TLoU should never have a sequel it'll ruin the ending and what made the game world unique kinda like how Matrix 2 and 3 ruined the original by adding and explaining too much shit.
a spiritual sequel with a new setting and enemies but the same mechanics and story dynamic would be preferred.

I want a story about different characters with very little reference to the first game. Maybe when you visit a town or something you can overhear people talking about a man with a girl who cleared an entire camp of bandits. Or a guy who mentions a girl who bought all the pre-outbreak comics he had a few months back.
What the sequel really needs is a little bit of divergent story decisions. Even just a few Option A/B decisions that affect the outcome of the story in some way would be great.
