I don't get this. The catacombs+tomb of the giants, and dukes archives are great., this only applies to Lost Izalith, and I guess maybe new Londo.

Tomb of the Giants is horseshit, Lost Izalith is tedious eye rape, the archives and crystal caves are boring as fuck. Nito and Seath are boring, and Bed of Chaos a shit.
Playing it for the first time too, this game really is a good as /v/ said.
I'm at the garden/swamp place after the Gargoyles, any tips? The place is spooking me up.
Also, I'm currently using an Axe, reinforced it to +3. I also have the Gargoyle Tail Axe. Which is better? The normal great axe had more attack, even before reinforcing (which is why I went balls deep reinforcing it), but I'm not sure if there's something on the Gargoyle Tail Axe that I'm missing. It is a special weapon after all, my RPG instincts tell me I should use it. Opinions?
Also, I'm reinforcing my natural starting armor instead of buying newer ones. Am I doing it right? I've heard it was a good bet to just upgrade your starting equipment instead of chasing new shit.

don't upgrade equipment in ng it's not worth it, focus on weapons, also concentrate or the large titanite shards you find on just one weapon till you reach anor londo. Oh and don't even consider levelling resistance

All axes are pretty great. Gargoyles on grants some handy resistance bonuses but its not as good in the damage or versatility departments. Golem axe is my personal favorite, which is a boss weapon.

because resistance is a useless stat, it raises your poison resistance slowly when you really can dodge most source of poison/make the stat skyrocket thanks to equipment if you need it

What exactly is the point of reverse hollowing?
Is it worth the humanity even when you become hollow again after you die?

when you're human you can summon phantoms, invade, and be invaded, this includes NPC invasions wich reward you with unique weapons you're going to lose if you beat the area boss before defeating said NPC. Also you have to be human to kindle bonfires

Beginner here too, but from what I could gather:
You use Reverse Hollowing to become human and get access to the multiplayer. You will be able to summon people to help you out, but I think you also open up the chance of being invaded.
Being human is also necessary to Kindle bonfires, I think, which give you more Estus Flasks when you rest there.

From what I've gathered, yes, but you need to use it strategically, since Humanity is rare.

idk about the others but I'd never go farm humanities in the depth before having the ability to teleport, it's painful af, and by the time you get the Lordvessel half the game has passed and you would have had multiple occasions to waste your humanities already, so yeah i'd say it's pretty rare.

Basically if you start getting boss souls, save them up for a special black smith that can craft weapons from those souls. I think you have to select "modify" to view boss weapons when you meet that black smith.
He can turn any +10 Axe into the Golem Axe, which is costly to upgrade but has a great moveset including a projectile at the cost of weapon durablity.
The Zweihander is considered the Noob Stick of the game, but that's because it's a fan-fucking-tastic weapon. Never bother with it for PvP, but PvE it's incredible. Its R2 attack has a high chance of staggering enemies, even major bosses.

If you summon people you have to support them. Let them take on the boss but keep an eye on them, make sure to pull the boss if they're struggling, and heal them when possible.
Anyway, rats have a high chance of dropping Humanity. Use the Gold Serpent ring to farm the depths for it.
