I just watched it in the AGDQ awful game block from 2015

He looks like if Mr. Incredible and Ace from Ratchet Gladiator had a child (Who they overfed).
>>
>>322349024
I was thinking he looks like what would happen if Space Ghost, Captain Quark, and Zap Brannigan did a three-way fusion dance.

The only reason I ever cared about this game was because Phil Hartman did the voice.

I remember seeing Bubble Bobble 2 at some random game rental store way back. It's like $350 on eBay now.

The Tomba games were actually pretty good.

For some reason, though, it ended after 2.

>Used to watch my dad play this and Einhander nonstop on our PS1 back in the 90's
>House burned down in 2002/2003 so we lost almost all of our vidya except the stuff I snuck off to my mom's a few weeks prior
>Got the itch to play them again, mfw the fucking prices they go for

Man, the PS1 had the greatest sleeper hits. Thank god for emulation. I remember one of my sister's ex boyfriends gave me a disc of almost every PS1 demo disc ever, and a lot of them used to have crazy Japanese demos on it. I remember this one cooking game where you chopped vegetables and poured beer, I wish I still had it. Or even a name.
>>
>>322349734
I used to live for those really weird "Japanese-y" games during the PS1-era. I've still got Incredible Crisis and Mr. Mosquito sitting in a box somewhere around here.
>>
>>322349734
Never played Einhander but heard tons of good things about it.

What's it like anyway? Is it like your average hard Cave shmup?
>>
>>322349734
Blasto is like ten bucks. Einhander is expensive, but that happened to all Squaresoft games.
>>
>>322349984
I wish I still had those demo discs, but they're nothing but melted plastic somewhere in the ashes of that old house. I think once upon a time I might have downloaded that cooking game because one of my friends found it for me, I'd have to check.

It's been almost ten years since I played it. The most I remember is you have these badass looking ships that almost look like beetles, and you have three to choose from. Each one of them has an "arm" that you can snatch giant weapons from enemies with to add to your own shot. One of the ships let you have two weapons at once (one facing back, one forward), one let you have two at once (at angles), and the other let you just swap between two weapons that faced forward.

If I remember correctly, the ship that let you have two weapons at an angle with a shotgun in each weapon slot was an absolute boss destroyer. I also think one of the ships may have let you load a weapon into your "main" slot? I'd have to emulate it and check.

I recommend it though, it's fucking rad if you like high speed action and synth-y music.

>>322350259
Is it on PSN, though? I'd love to buy it legit.

Back when Square would actually make new IPs instead of Final Fantasy and Tomb Raider rehashes.

I was just reminded of this one, which I never did play. I just remember ads for it in my FFIX strategy guide. Or maybe they were in the game manual. Something like that, anyway.

I should give it a go.

>Brave Fencer Musashi

Why is this not on PSN? I bought it for the FFVIII demo, and ended up loving it way more than I ever did FFVIII. Such a good game. Pity about the sequel.
>>
>>322350640
I've always wanted to try it out, because some magazine (I think PSM) described it as being a spiritual successor to Brave Fencer Musashi. Never got around to it, though.
>>
>>322348318
This game is familiar as fuck. Either played this on a demo, or my cousins had it.

>Brave Fencer Musashi
>Einhander
>Vagrant Story

Man, what happened to Squaresoft/Square Enix? There was a period in the mid- to late-1990s when they constantly innovated and wanted to try out completely new IPs in new genres instead of making Final Fantasy sequels and spin-offs.
>>
>>322352076
Am I cancer if I consider FP to be the best of the trilogy?
>>
>>322352550
All of those games were Squaresoft. They went downhill when they merged with Enix.
