This is the worst "game" I have ever played.
Why did it win so many awards again?
>>322346553
Do you have an actual reason for hating it? Or are you just going to say 'ITS NOT A GAME!!!' over and over?
It's really fun and original, a really cool Detective Simulator.
I don't think it deserves to win as many awards as it did, but who cares?
>>322347160
>>322349341
This, it's all you can say about it.
But otherwise it's good.
It isn't SJW shit and definitely is a game unlike, say, Emily is away
>>322346553
Because it's a fairly original concept I would guess
I guess it was Her Story after all.
>>322347160
Not OP but theres more gameplay in a torn up choose your own adventure novel.
>>322347160
Not OP, but I didn't like it at all. It had a lot of potential, and I liked the concept a lot, but the lack of any real direction or systems really hurt it. When I played, within minutes, I stumbled upon crucial tapes that spoiled a major plot twist before I had any chance to even put together the main conflict. Not being able to string together the tapes in one cohesive order was a very bad move, and there is practically no interactivity or structure. The first few minutes I was wondering what the hell I was even trying to do. Not to mention, after a while, there's a "PRESS THIS BUTTON TO WIN" option which completely destroys any satisfaction of completing it because you could easily end the game without accomplishing jackshit.
Her Story was a good idea but with horrendous execution.
>>322351750
>>322351789
not op mind
>>322346553
Because you, astoundingly, are not actually the center of the universe
>HER Story
RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>322346553
Game journos (the people who decide what games win awards) play games all the time. A year full of shootymans and run-around-the-map collectathons. So uniqueness is remembered over quality.
>>322346553
>Why did it win so many awards again?
Choose:
>muh feminism
>muh FMV nostalgia/retro/indie/hipster shit
>ethics in journalism
>who gives a shit
This post is now as much of a game
I liked the concept.
The performance of the grill was okay.
The story was fucking dumb.
5/10
Its 2 hours, trying it doesent hurt. But most of the potential has been wasted.
>>322352381
>I have never played her story
Why are you in this thread
>>322346553
because you're a pleb.
I think it's safe to say that anyone who dismisses Her Story as a feminist/SJW game has no idea what the hell they are talking about.
>>322346553
because the dude who made it is pretty cosy with a lot of people in game journo circles
I'm trying not to sound conspiracy theorist on this shit but there's no way that doesn't play a part.

Found the problem OP
A more important question.
Why did you waste your time playing this?
You obviously knew ahead of time that it would be a waste of your time, and that you would hate it.
So why did you bother?
>>322355162
>thinking OP has actually played it for more than 5 minutes, if at all
Silly Anon
>>322347160
It's not a game, though.
I bet you're one of those retards who say VNs are games too.
>>322355408Exactly why I asked./thread

>I bet you're one of those retards who
Daily reminder to dismiss every post that uses this 14-year old logic as trash
You said something I don't agree with, I bet you like [song I don't like] too
I liked it for the reduced price.
It really made me feel like a small detective.
Acting was mostly ok.
Hopefully they make a second one that is more complex.

>Not to mention, after a while, there's a "PRESS THIS BUTTON TO WIN" option which completely destroys any satisfaction of completing it because you could easily end the game without accomplishing jackshit.
This is one of the most cancerous thoughts I've ever read on /v/ and you're probably not even aware how horrible it is.
>>322355990
The two aren't comparable you infantile fuck
>>322355538
I think VN is pure and utter garbage, but I liked Her Story.
her story actually has potential.

Novelty. It's powerful to the weak.
>>322349341
>Detective Simulator
Don't you just type in search phrases and look at one person's jumbled mess of testimonies? That's the laziest excuse for detective work I've ever heard.
>>322346553
Is that Viva Seifert from The Witcher 3?
>>322346553
it's a genuine piece of shit and any "awards" it won are worth jack shit
every single feely fucking retarded faggot in here defending this awful shit needs to fuck right off back to reddit or pinterest or whatever. your absolute SHIT worthless opinions are what's been destroying this board for years. shit taste of this magnitude used to be laughed off here, now you fucking niggers actually have a voice and it's a goddamn travesty.
>>322357947
Got a chuckle from this.
>>322351789
>Not being able to string together the tapes in one cohesive order was a very bad move, and there is practically no interactivity or structure.
>>322355538
It definitely isn't game, but you can't deny it was a fairly good story with a good execution at that.
For the price it's now at the Steam Sale it's pretty fucking good, although I wouldn't mind that much if I had gotten it at full price.
>>322346553
It is a breath of fucking fresh air and whoever thinks otherwise is the cancer killing gaming. Fuck you OP
So, was ittwins or split personality
>>322346553
>Why did it win so many awards again?
women is currently #1 in western society
everything is women
women engineer
women war veterans
women run naked to public event with words on naked body
women video games
now this video games has REAL women in it, that means doubleplus from press. also, women in video game is ugly, so that mean more plus plus from press
I hope you are happy with explanation
because I am not
>>322358529
split personality
>>322359523
What about the tattoo?
>>322356658
I guess if you're gonna do some jerking off they're fine. There's are a little more work involved than is necessary and wanting a story that elicits an emotional investment before you come is gay enough that you might as well grow a pussy so you finger it while watching lifetime movies or reading romance novels.
It's innovative to be an FMV game in 2015.

not him, but I'm genuinely interested in why you think that
are you defending the "win button", or is he lying about it?
Daily reminder that the word "history" comes from the Greek "histor" for "judge" and has literally nothing to do with masculinity.

Sucking a dozen of the right cocks, literally.
>>322361064
>>322361157

>>322360262
That's the most hilarious part. It's like indies are going through the same evolution real games did, just on a 20-year lag.
FMV games are the future, guys.
>>322360974
>are you defending the "win button", or is he lying about it?
Neither. There isn't much to win and if you arrive at that point you can construct the rest of the story on your own. It just reveals the end much sooner.
