MORTAL KOMBAAAAAT
I wish those were still around
Though it must be a lot of money
>>322349565
Fun fact, C&C started with them because they didn't have budget or more CGI but the game still lacked a proper story.
Essentially, these things were cheaper than actual CGI back in their heyday.
>>322346086
>>322345865
yes lads
>>322345229
Tim Curry, Ric Flair and George Takei are the only reason I played the damn campaign
>Game has Billy D Williams in live action cutscenes
>>322345229
I was completely surprised that they got Tim Curry as the soviet president; he was beyond the perfect choice.
He took being a soviet megalomaniac leader into James Bond Supervillain levels.
>>322345865
I fucking loved this game and the second one.
I didn't mind the Third Age either since I just wanted more LOTR, but I can understand why it got hated.
I prefer having literally whos as actors.
>>322349862
I remember playing heavy gear back in the day, with its cut-rate tv tier cut scenes.
And they kept getting cheaper and goofier looking as the campaign progressed, like you could literally see their budget drying up.
It was charming in a weird sort of way.
This was a good game

I miss live action scenes in games, I was always looking forward to those.

Probably the single best ting in any game ever. So massivly comicly camp even he couldn't help courpsing at his own performance.
>>322349862
>Essentially, these things were cheaper than actual CGI back in their heyday.
it still is if all you need to make is some people in costumes talking at the camera
making a live action of ground zeroes intro and ending cutscenes would always cost more than cgi/in game scripting

George Takei as the Japanese leader was pretty good too.
>>322351806
He will be 70 years old this year, though. Not much can be done against that.
>>322352010
So was Simmons as the US president who turned mount rushmore into a superweapon.
But they were both just simple and straightforward roles, while Curry was plain diabolical.
Best character coming through!

This fucking game man. Worth every penny for $3.50.
I got the deluxe edition for $5 and played a couple missions in first person too. The extras are great too.
Why does Red Alert 3 get so much hate? Obviously it was no Westwood C&C and suffered from being rushed out the door by EA as usual, but the same applies to Generals and C&C3 yet people regard those two far more highly
>>322357724
RA2 was campy enough, and really casual, but it seemed fun.
RA3 just took it too far.
The secret is thatGenerals and C&C3 were shit too.
>>322357724
I tried playing Generals a while back and realized it was shit
>>322346086
C'mon it wasn't a poor attempt for ps2.
>>322357869
i'd take an hd remake/update of generals over cnc3 though, overall it's not a great game but it has its moments
nothing compared to ra2, tiberian sun etc of course
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w7Vu8_EQVXc
>>322357724
C&C3 and Generals were both shit. Tiberium Sun was the last good C&C.
>>322357869
C&C3 was great, other than that it had 0 music. The campaign was retarded at times, but most of the missions were lots of fun. And a lot of them were also properly difficult, likeOperation Stiletto.
RA3 fucked up the game economy too much, which made it extremely unfun.
>>322357869
I liked the overblown camp factor, but I can see why people would hate it since the previous games weren't blatantly made to be campy
>>322358232
>C&C3 was great
It really wasn't.
>Tiberium was turned from a plant into generic green crystals for no apparent reason.
>As a result there weren't any environments overrun with strange Tiberium-mutated flora and fauna, which were the highlight of Firestorm.
>Tiberium fields had a fixed radius because ~esports~.
>GDI suddenly didn't use mechs anymore. They attempted to fix this in KW, but the Wolverine Mk.II and Titan Mk.II looked really dinky compared to the originals.
>Slavik disappeared from the story, despite being a really compelling character.
>The Forgotten were forgotten.

>>322359118
The gameplay functioned decently, but it didn't feel special. It didn't really impress, you know?
I mean dated as TS is, I was excited when I saw drop pod troops coming in for the first time. C&C3 felt like it realized it was lacking anything special so they made up for it by throwing sexy chicks at us.

Man, this was what I jerked off too for ages, dem legs.
>>322359659
>it didn't feel special. It didn't really impress, you know?
Well after coming from Tiberian Sun, sure. But it grew on me enough that now it is difficult to go back to the earlier games - specifically, the lack of different unit stances, reverse move, and attack move, and waypoints, makes it a bit annoying to play the older games.
Campaign wise they just throw shit in your way because kids today get annoyed if the game doesn't tell you how to play in the first minute, and get bored if they can't shoot ion cannons in the first five minutes.
But even with that limitation, some of the missions were very good, and very difficult. Most of the Nod missions for example, were very nice.
