I like my DS, but it doesn't have force feedback on PC and there are some games I can't use it with.
Of course, I also play some games with kb+m. TPP for example was better that way.

I've spebt over 150 hours with a 360 on my PC and I'll say this - it's okay, works well enough, but it's flimsy as fuck, the buttons wobble around, the dpad is terrible and the buttons don't work very well when you have to button mash because of their shape. Okay, but not worth 60$.
PS3 controller isn't worth 60$ either, but it has far better buttons as well as dpad. Also I think that the analog sticks on the PS3 co troller are more precise, I had problems doing precise cuts in Metal Gear Reveangenceksjwhatever on my 360 pad, never had that problem with a PS3 controller. Also it's sturdier than the 360 pad as long as you don't drop it on the floor a couple of times.

I've been using this same old Logitech controller and Joy2Key to adapt it to whatever for like a decade now.
It's still comfy. If it ever breaks i'd switch to a WiiU pro though.

Depends on the game. I recently played Ori and Rogue Legacy with a pad. I play most SHMUPs with a pad. I play Fightan games with a pad.No bully
Most everything else is done with KB+M. Games that play better with a pad are done with a DS3 and Better DS3.

No, I use a DS4.
X360 controller has shitty as fuck Dpad, their only saving grace is being wireless for games that don't use the Dpad as much. Xbone controllers are shoddy and require constant maintenance to keep responsive buttons, the bumpers also tend to click loudly after a few weeks. DS3 controllers are nice, but the DS4's shitty touchpad can be used as a mouse and/or three extra buttons in addition to the standard Xbox setup when combined with X360 drivers & DS4Windows.
I've been tempted to try supposedly high quality logitech controllers, but $120 price tag turns me away.
I use the Xbox One and a PS4 controller, depending on what one is free.
I really hate the Xbox One's sticks though. With the DS4, it's wireless, connects via bluetooth and has a ridiculous battery life.... without the rumble at least. I think its such a nice controller though.

Xbox controllers use the USB standard, just a different plug. If you solder on a USB plug or use an adapter I'm pretty sure Windows will recognize it.
