The graphics and they art style really go hand in hand. that's why zidane always stands out in games like dissidia. if they had updated it it might have looked worse. I like the genuineity of it. Like they're acknowledging they got it right the first time.

I know we won't get it but I would like a new localization. Not really because FF9 has a bad one but because a lot of the references the game has is kind of lost in the localization. Since by that time either the game was horrible localized (FF1, 4, 7) or just not done (FF2, 3, 5). So the localization of FF9 really needs to be redone from the ground up.
I know absolutely nothing about FF 8 or 9.

9 was unpopular because its a swansong to the series. very weak on its own. slow as hell, characters in a revolving door. it has a below average soundtrack compared to other FF titles. it did however put the PS1 through its paces quite impressively. Bahamut's summon runs at 60 fps
