The game is very important since too many games forget that we can have a narration and a gameplay instead to go in full mode "interactive movies" or in arcade mode, but HOLY SHIT the fanbase is part of the cancerous fandom problem. They are one of these fanbases that give bad reputation to geeks in general!

I like the game but don't bother myself with the fanbase. The rabbit hole just goes deeper and deeper.
People spouting that it's the best game of all time are the kind of people I think haven't actually played very many video games. It's a good game in my opinion and I enjoyed it a lot, but it certainly isn't GOAT or even my personal GOTY.
