The great shame about posting about Halo on here is that most people here grew up around Halo 3. Essentially it was a babbies first game for many people here. Halo 3 is their 'highest standard' on SP and MP, despite games both earlier and later in the series doing much better. A weird mix of nostalgia, and one of the first games to really popularize multiplayer.
Nobody wants to remember how actually shit-tastic the SP was, or how fucking awful some of those maps were. These guys were blinded by pretty-good graphics, explosions, and a first taste of something that was still good.

just shoot at a wall/water in reach then do it in halo 5 and you'll be shocked that the water doesn't react in 5 and particle effects are practically non existent when you shoot at walls.

Also agree with this. It might be a bit of nostalgia for me but I still feel that CE has the best campaign. A big reason I feel this way is because CE found a perfect way to make linear levels feel wide open and not so linear unlike 2 and 3. ODST kind of took after 1 in this way which is why I find it pretty good. 1 also had you going through such cool locations throughout the campaign. I didn't mind going back through those great levels again unlike some.

I will buy it for multiplayer if they sell a complete version with all DLC maps included, because I had a lot of fun with the beta
