Who is the worst RPG protagonist and why is it this fuckboy?
He single-handedly ruined the Final Fantasy franchise because he was so shit. I couldn't even get halfway through the game at first because he just annoyed the shit out of me so bad, and the second time I tried playing it years later the game just wasn't good enough to keep my playing.

Tidus is the manliest FF character in the entire series. He is one of my favorite characters because of the character development he has compared to other characters and games.
When it starts off, yes, he is a pretty big pussy. Very charismatic sure, but when he whined about his dad, it didn't seem completely justified. Sure it sucked, but he went on a little too much about it.
But as the game progressed, he whined less and less. And was able to make a decision that I don't think anyone would have made like he did.
First of all, he found out he wasn't even fucking real. I mean, being dead but still in the realm of the living is one thing, but he wasn't even that. He was just a dream. A DREAM. The person he was based on wasn't even like him.
Second of all, when he found out that defeating Yu Yevon would end the dream of the Fayth, he didn't even hesitate. He didn't spend time thinking it over. He didn't whine. He knew what had to be done and the repercussions it would have.
See, in the world of Spira, there's an afterlife. You die, your pyreflies (or whatever the fuck) gather in the Farplane and you exist there.
But Tidus? He would cease to exist completely. Think about for a second. Death is frightening because people aren't sure what will happen. They are afraid of the worse case scenario, nothing. Just blackness for eternity. You just stop. That's what would have happened to Tidus. He'd disappear and then have nothing for him afterwards.
But he didn't fucking even flinch when the choice was made, and when it came down to it. Can you fucking do that? No, you fucking can't. I know I can't. That mere concept scares the shit of me and I just about lock up. But he did it for the future of Spira, and for the one he loved, Yuna.
And that's why Tidus is the most manly FF character faggots

Yuna, Seymour and a lot of the NPCs had horrible voices even in the serious parts. So yes, its still a pretty bad dub. Even overlooking that scene.
But even in that scene, there's such a thing as acting laughably bad...and just not acting. Yuna couldn't express emotion in any scene.

It's not about emotional recovery. It's that both of them are in terrible situations with little to no chance to fix it. The whole scene is both of them trying to keep people from seeing their problems and revealing their immaturity. At the end of the game Yuna isn't forcing a fake smile and Tidus accepted fully what he needed to do, fully contrasting the laughing scene.
I love FFX. Monster Arena is fun. Switching between the whole cast mid-battle is fun too. More JRPGs should do it.
Blitzball is great too provided you're good at it. Only the people that suck at it and don't recruit the right people end up complaining about it.

Yuna's story becomes meaningless once Tidus talks her out of the pilgrimage. And if the rest of the cast didn't conspire to hide everything from him and they mat Rikku 20 hours earlier, they could have defeated Sin right at the start of the game and saved everyone the trip.
Yuna is effectively pointless to the story in the long run. She's just a vessel for carrying the summons to the final battle and she knows Rikku who gets you the airship. In the end, it really is Tidus' story. And everyone else is trying to stall it as long as possible.
