Fellowship of the Ring was the tits.
It followed the book instead of the movie, and it somehow managed to catch the atmosphere almost perfectly. God tier soundtrack, that Ringwraith sneaking, The old forest,Tom Bombadiland even the Barrow Downs.

For starters the setting is all wrong. There was no such thing as farmlands in Mordor in between the events of the Hobbit and the War of the Ring. There was also no such thing as a group of rangers that stood watch over Mordor because that place had been abandoned since the Second Age when Minas Ithil was captured
Then there's the whole thing about Celebrimbor being BFFs with Sauron, even though he was the only one who never trusted him. He originally only made the elven rings of power, but the game changed it so that he's responsible for making the one ring and then becomes this sort of ghost that possesses the PC and supposedly helps him take out Sauron or some shit which is about the dumbest most lore raping thing ever written.
It's literally fan fiction. There's no such thing as an elven ghost being able to possess a mortal, and furthermore there's no such thing as a fucking ghost being able to duel a physical manifestation of Sauron.
The only people who think this was fine are retards who don't know anything about LOTR.

ROTWK is the hardest fucking campaign of all the games, even worse than the evil campaign in II.
I was disappointed in the Erebor mission because you just have to sort of turtle in Dale, and then you can't even use the fortress because it has these two exposed tunnels and the enemies can just tunnel into the mountain regardless. Fucking retarded decision for a "Defend the Fort" mission

Shadow of Mordor had potential. The game itself is fun but there was really no interesting story to go with it. it was just a big sandbox where you played around with the enemy AI. Seemed like a tech demo, now I would love it if they took that engine and made a competent LOTR game out of it.
