Sorry, no.

Shit like this, and I'm not joking:
http://dagobah.net/flash/Cursor_Invisible.swf

Things that work on fundamentals like muscle memory, APM, and reaction times. So... fighting games is probably where you're going to end up practicing, even if you want to do something like RTS/FPS.

If you can't legit carry 4 scrubs against 4 other scrubs and that one guy who's trying to carry them, then maybe you should try button-mashing fighting games instead :^)

>>
>>322269615
Okay, smart guy. Tell me who wins in a game with 1 masterful player (such as yourself) with 4 retards vs 2 people are are just as good as you with 3 retards? Every game isn't going to be "one real player and 4 retards vs one other real player and four other retards".

The point is, there are too many factors at play for Dota 2 to be fundamental practice. That is like asking someone to improve their individual strength by playing a game of 5v5 tug of war.

Basically any FPS, RPG, Fighting, or Action game that gets to you to think of the games mechanics.

>What can be done for optimal competitive performance, including diet, exercises, and efficient practice strategies?

For the most part its first and foremost reaching the 3 digits in world ranking. Then from there just keeping at it and trying to improve.

As per food, just a normal diet is fine, relying on sugar rushes is bad since you eventually crash. Anything other stimuli you basically under the equivalent of "PED"s. Which means it ain't your actual skill and you're lying to yourself.

>Also, what are your favorite competitive games?

LoL (moba)
RO (mmo)
SF (fighting)
BB (fighting)

Sup, OP. I play fighting games competitively (KI and Sm4sh at the moment) and I'll be happy to weigh in.

>Diet
I drink water, green tea, and black coffee. I eat a mostly pescetarian diet with grass fed organic beef twice a week. As far as carbs I eat oatz, quinoa, and legumes, and not much else aside from sugar in fruit.

>Fitness
HIIT cardio every morning, Mon-Sat, PPL Mon-Sat, I never workout on Sundays.

>Personal/social
I date an educated, sane woman with her own life, and have an active social life and a small, but close circle of friends.

>Gaming
I meet up with friends from my local scene at least twice a week, regularly compete in tournaments at home and abroad. I don't play every day; actually I would recommend avoiding online play especially before tournaments because you pick up some bad habits, KI is the only game whose netcode is remotely close to side by side play.

Eat well, work out, get out of the hosue regularly, practice vidya often but always with purpose. (Don't play against people that can't teach you anything, your online stats mean fuck all.)
>>

Green tea can supposedly lower T in some quantities.

How're the competitions?
>>
>>322279205
>Green tea can supposedly lower T in some quantities
I haven't noticed any issues. Then again, I eat a lot of T boosting food.

>How're the competitions
My region (Western NY) has a thriving, growing scene. I usually top 16 at tourneys with anywhere from 80 to 300 people.

I've done very well at some of the bigger tournaments, but I've never won Evo or anything.
>>
>>322277972
diet nearly has no effect on e-sports performance, u only need your brain and not a physically fit body.if u just avoid rly bad foods it shud be fine enough.

I hear action/shooters are the lifting of mental gains.
>In controlled tests, folks who played action games showed “faster and more accurate attention allocation, higher spatial resolution in visual processing, and enhanced mental rotation abilities.” Apparently, the improvement in spacial skills that gamers develop are comparable to those developed in formal (high school and university-level) courses designed to teach the same skills.

Refined sugar pulls nutrient stores and replaces them with nothing, which is a main reason why it's worthless intake.

Caffeine is documented as improving performance, mood, and other states by over 10%, whereas sugar supposedly reduces performance.

Mm.. B vitamins are great for energy, minerals are minimal, A and D and E are pretty underfed for plenty of diets, etc.
