Been watching my brother play through the series. Hard to believe those games cane out years ago. They have more detail in the original uncharted than the lame mediocre shit coming out today. Hell, ps2 games had more details than certain games today. It's the little things that can get me very immersed in a game.

Making games look good is all smoke and mirrors right? You hide technical limitations with the artstyle and shit. Well U2 and U3 did this amazingly well. But this? I don't buy it, I don't buy into the illusion. People talk about how good this looks, but its like only in the faces and during cutscenes. The game looks...muddy? Texture-less? During gameplay shit looks like its made of clay or something, they want the game to pretty much look photorealistic. But the techniques they use, I don't know, it's like seeing the cogs. 2, 3 and TLOU didn't have this, they felt completely cohesive.

Actually now that I think about it, all the good guys in that game were white and all the enemies, with one exception (and you didn't get to kill him), were black and latino.

Not the same guy, but I'd have to agree. Most western devs/pubs seem to prioritize visuals and presentation over gameplay. Most recent western games have pretty shallow gameplay. Name virtually any western AAA release in 2015 and it's probably got very shallow gameplay while looking very nice and running at sub-30fps. Call of Duty seems like its easily one of the deepest AAA game out there, and that's really saying something.

I'd like to ignore those threads but it makes me rage every time. Uncharted games are bad games giving you absolutely no freedom and forcing you to play a games which could almost play itself. There's no skill needed, no reward for exploring if not for dumb shits there just to prove there are things to collect.
