i played demon souls before dark souls
its really not very good, quit the game after killing the phalanx boss because it was so shitty. bought dark souls 2 weeks ago and im loving it.
Demon's Souls was a bleak and mostly humorless game.

what's so hard about shooting enemies from a distance with heavy damage and getting high criticals on melee with the knife? DaS1 had 3 starter builds that have magic. Seriously magic makes Souls games easy as hell. Bloodborne is the only exception. People who picked royalty in DeS didn't get the true experience IMO. getting up close and personal with beasts is the way to do it. That's just my opinion though.

DeS Miracles were nearly perfect for that, but over time they've just become about zapping things while the best support spells got nerfed into the ground and/or were scattered over the other magic categories.

Bloodborne "magic" builds are pretty fucking easy too, anon
>fastest backstab speed in the game + longest active parry frames with augur + large damage for one bullet
>higher damage than a repeating pistol with blacksky eye for one bullet
>can nuke an entire enemy group for 2000+ with kos parasite L2 for two bullets
>can stunlock most enemies with glove spam
>never run out of bullets unless you're using call beyond spam, which will kill anything before you run out
>scaling gets amazing returns to 99 arcane with spells
>fire + serration + oil completely destroys most bosses
The only conceivably hard part is getting the fire waning gem from after BSB, but you can just flamespray everything to that point

you are correct. I was just stating that choosing to go for a magic build on your first playthrough in Bloodborne would be tough unless you looked shit up like getting the flamesprayer (which you can buy later even if you miss it from the window guy) or getting the fire waning gem from the brainsucker early on. Also you'd have to go into chalice dungeons early to get better gems which a lot of people avoid doing for some reason. You are right though Bloodborne magic builds are pretty powerful, but not on a first playthrough where you don't know what you're doing.
