Why is this game never talked about on here? It gets more and more players everyday, it even hit 115k players today.

Its fans are kind of obnoxious. I wouldn't say the game has no strategy or anything, but so much of what's happening is out of your control or left up to chance that it's easy to see why it'd be appealing to 'some people.'

I play on keyboard and its just fine. driving games in general are always better to play with a controller because of precision. but it doesnt really affect anything in rocket league. you should buy it. easy to play, hard to master.
you can also just jump straight in whenever and play a match when you feel like it. thats what i do and ive got 32 hours already

Am I supposed to just leave ball lock on all the time or what? I tried that initially and it just felt weird as shit so I stopped using it. Playing normally without it feels great but lining up aerials seems hard as hell, so is ball lock key for that?

Well I held one at a local store, I didn't use it ingame for anything. The feel of it was weird. I guess I'd have to legit PLAY with it to get the true feel of it, but I feel like I'd stick to like a 360 controller.

When you are playing actual soccer you tend to keep your eyes on the ball most of the time, so yeah, ball lock is key if you even want to hit it in the first place.

I just toggle it on and off if the ball isn't in front of me anyway or rotate the camera with the right stick. I'm mostly curious how much easier aerials are with it on constantly, which actual soccer isn't much help for seeing as you can't fly.

I haven't used it, but everyone I hear from just says it doesn't do controller or track pad better than a dedicated controller or mouse which is about what you'd expect by looking at it. It seems to be more of an in-between for lazy couchfags. If you don't have the physical money then it wouldn't be terrible, but otherwise spring for an Xbone controller or 360 at least. 360 will be cheaper, but the Xbone is marginally better in someways.

I think he's trolling. The only things I can say are left up to chance are some of the really fast pinches. You know the general direction a pinch will go, but not much more than that most of the time. I don't think I've ever seen a pinch in a tournament because of this. Teams generally want to control the ball and not leave something up to chance. Other than that everything is predictable if you've played enough. I remember thinking it was chance when I first started playing, but I just sucked.

About 90% of the time it's alright. As long as people understand and play their starting positions you're guaranteed to have some good matches. Only had one game so far in a team of Veterans that played like Rookies.

It's just like every other competitive game where they need to find someone to blame. Luckily the games are normally five minutes with the longest OTs bringing it to 10 max. At least it's not like DotA where you're stuck with people crying for 30 minutes or more.

first skill check you hit is being able to hit the ball with jump/jump combo, the next is understanding walls, and the next and final skill check is fly and hit the ball, there isnt more to do after that, just fun

Wall hits and air juggling and dribbling is pretty much another tier of skill though, also coordinating team play is a whole nother thing to git gud at.
