A straight up Harvest Moon ripoff but with animal crossing characters and customization would be pretty great.
As is I just can't get into Animal crossing at all. It's fun for like a day and then there's nothing new to do really. Just collect more stuff. It's like a singleplayer mmo without any combat or exploration.

Animal Crossing would be a better game if it copied Harvest Moon's formula. Animal Crossing is instead copying smartphone games.
If the next Animal Crossng actually had farming and you know...simulation elements, then I'd play it. Doesn't even need the dating aspect. Just something more to do than grinding items on an island and turning the game on during holidays.
