Digital businesses maximise customer retention by balancing unpredictability with lots of cheap but frequent/regular purchases.

The Humble Bundle Monthly model has you pay a certain amount per month for a completely unpredictable pay-off.

Slot machines have you pay a certain amount per pull for a completely unpredictable pay-off.

They both prey upon similar weaknesses in human nature.
>>
>>322239964

>>

I'd be fine with that. Alternatively:

>bundle must include one AAA title (CoD, GTA, etc)

Real smooth guys, let's stealthily inflate Alien Isolation price on Steam and conveniently have the """-75%""" sale a bit more expensive than humble monthly.

Niche products that are actually worth playing, that aren't random indie garbage that nobody's heard of or bought because they're objectively bad. I wouldn't even care if I got duplicates if they were games I felt good about giving out to friends.

Here are some ideas:
>Raiden IV: Overkill
>Samurai Gunn
>Hacknet
>Ys I&II Chronicles, VI, Origin, or Oath in Felghana
>Pathologic HD
>Broforce
>Shantae and the Pirate's Curse
>Serpent in the Staglands
>One Way Heroics (with the Plus DLC)
>Tormentum
>Circuit Breakers
>Ikaruga
>Satellite Reign
>Towerclimb
>1001 Spikes
>Invisible, Inc.
>Lisa (both Painful and Joyful)
>Grandia 2
>Subnautica
>Super House of Dead Ninjas (with DLC)

>>322240338
Yeah, not in steambucks land.
>>
>>322240173

Honestly, the big problem with any of these "random monthly" models is that you can't guarantee something stable. You're as likely to get a full package of trash as you are to get that one game you really want.

Adding some sort of stable "guarantee," like a certain game per month (along with a bundle of random games) or a store credit alternative would do a lot to fix this model. I really doubt that they'll do that though. Humble Bundle has been getting significantly less "humble" over the last year or two.

Talos principle is the best part of the bundle, compare to COH2, Banished or even fucking Rust from before.

Yes, Talos is better than all of them. What are you getting at?

My GFs HDD is full of pirated games and she thinks steam is the SMITE/TF2 client, the money I don't waste there can be used for awesome meals and actual stuff I can't download

Wow, what a realization

Every good game for five dollars, then they would blame Humble bundle if they already have the game.

>let me break the law to buy a luxury I otherwise couldn't justifiably afford

TotalBiscuit was right about the gaming industry. We need to ban used games, require online passes, create more paid DLC and microtransactions, just so thieves finally have to pay if they want to game hard.

ok, you choose what i will get, then make it cheap

Notice the way the poorfag so quickly devolves into his naturally violent and animalistic state. It is very common among the world's most poor race: Africans, but can be seen in whites as well when they have never known true luxury.

>>
>>322250727
So do you just have bad taste or something? Are you denying that the games in the past two Humble Monthlies were good?

Because from a pure cash standpoint it was a great deal, so you couldn't possibly think you have a real argument from that front. All you can say is "I don't like any of those games," and that just means you're a pleb.
>>
i specifically opted out of the monthly bundle notifications and these niggers kept sending them. i even contacted support to let them know they were sending the monthly shit to the main bundle newsletter, and they apologized and said it wouldn't happen again. but a month later they did not miss sending a single one of these emails so i just fucking unsubbed from their mailing list entirely. seriously, the humble fuckwads cannot even respect their own spam policy anymore

I think it's largely just being incredibly spoiled by the other humble bundle/weekly deals. Getting 3-4 games for $1 every couple weeks has brought people's standards of what to expect from the Humble Bundle folks way too high. By comparison, 6 games for $12 seems like a horrible rip-off, even though it's not.

I was lukewarm on the first two bundles, but I kept with it because each one had a unsuspecting treat that I got really into (Sanctuary RPG and Chroma Squad). I already had most of the games in the first one, so I ended up giving like 4/6 of it away to friends. The second one, I had zero interest in either of the two 'big' games, CoH and Payday. This one, however, looks right up my ally. Masterplan is the only one that I'm not sure I care for.

And Alien Isolation alone is worth $12 to me so I'm definitely signing up for next month.

I only buy the highest tiers of any Humble Bundles, so $12 is not a big deal.

Also, is Alien Isolation a signup-only bonus, or do you get it if you're already signed up from November?
>>

I'm sending a refund request right now. I hadn't played Talos Principle at all, so hopefully I don't get kiked.

It's a pay-early bonus. You can get it even if you have a subscription.
>>
>>322255660
What was the bonus for this month? I remember Grimrock, but that was last time.
>>
>>322255785
I'm not actually sure, there may not have been one at all for the past 2 months. Grimrock was the early bonus for November, but I don't think there were early bonuses for December/January. Or maybe I just missed it and didn't notice.

Maybe the guys at Humble are getting a lot of unsubscribes now that the novelty has worn off, and are starting to panic, so they had to throw another carrot out.
