So is Obsidian going to come along and make a decent Fallout again after the disappointing mess of Fallout 4? Why did Obsidian make New Vegas instead of Bethesda anyway? Is there anyway this will happen again?
Bethesda ruined the goddamn canon. I honestly want Obsidian to do it.

Leave Obsidian alone, let them make their own IP's and work on new cool shit, it's giving us far better better output than if they were constrained by Bethesda's terrible open world design philosophy and awful engine.

I'm fairly sure most of the creative talent responsible for NV have left Obsidian (Chris Avellone immediately springs to mind). If it happens, it'll be shit.

If Obsidian is dead, Fallout is going with them. I can't sit through another Bethesda Fallout game.
All Bethesda needs to do is get a couple of writers like Avellone and Sawyer to work on their games writing, quests and dialogue while they do their "world building", AKA putting Teddy Bears in funny positions and terminal entries
It sucks that we'll never see the west coast again, but I'd rather it end on a high note with New Vegas then get ruined.

Because it was an easy decision to have Obsidian do it. It kept Fallout on people's minds while Bethesda was working on Skyrim. Both sides have said they're open to working together again so who knows but Obsidian is now busy working on Russian mmo shit like Skyforge.

I don't think Avelone leaving had anything to do with their financial situation. He probably realized he didn't want to stick around after their big in house IP turned out to be exactly the kind of generic sword and sorcery fantasy he never wanted to write again for the rest of his life.
New Vegas was a perfect ending as far the story goes.
The future is up to open to personal interpretation, we get some answers to what canonically happens throughout 2, characters like Marcus get their own endings, factions like the Enclave, Brotherhood, and Khans all get logical conclusions, the NCR is really well done, the DLC's overarching story was great, etc.
It had finality for the series, lets just leave it at that
