There was clearly some parts that were only half thought out (New biomes) but it's most certainly not a shit update. I rather enjoyed expert mode despite how unbalanced it was, It's just a tad lacking compared to the other major updates.
If there was anything shit about 1.3 it was the events that happened before and after it was released, Hero's rant, The buffs and strat nerfs involved with Moon Lord etc.

God... I was so disappointed in Expert Mode. I was hoping for a lot of really cool items but most importantly I was hoping the bosses would legitimately change and get harder. Not just be Faster, damage sponges.
It's sad and pathetic because you knew it was bad when the last several patches were Red getting rid of alternate methods to fight the last boss that were only exploited because his design was shit. But instead of fixing the boss he just started trying to patch out all of the cool methods people discovered to get around his grind-of-a-boss fight and not have to keep spamming his dumb ass for hours.

Expert Mode is great until you get to Hardmode. Then the bosses stopped being better and are just their original behaviors with more damage and more HP. Shit's disappointing as fuck.

It was alright but boss fights honestly felt unfair at times and enemies were too HP spongey forcing you to use only the most OP weapons in expert mode if you didn't want to spent 20 seconds killing things while exploring.
Also it's retarded that there's cool stuff locked behind the final boss in a game where you have absolutely nothing to do once you killed the final boss

I liked it a lot, added a shit ton of content and got me back into the game as well. I was disappointed with the game post moonlord. There's no point to grind his gear besides just wanting to have it. There's nothing else stronger to fght after it either, so it just seems kind of pointless.

The way Hardmode is handled is still grade-A fucking retarded. The corruption/hallow should spawn in an alternate world through a portal or some shit, not infect your current one. It really kills my motivation to go to hardmode.

I've always had a world from 1.0.2 that I use as a headquarters, free from hardmode and corruption.
Quarantining shit is an absolute bitch, and fuck your life if you want to break demon altars and have a single random block in the underground turn Hallow/Corrupt/Crimson, which can easily turn into a chunk of your map by the time you find it.

i used to rail on it as a 2d minecraft but i tried the game again after 1.3 and im pretty pleased with what it is now.
the options for decorating and organizing buildings like the pitiful housewife I am is very nice.

Eh, I think there needed to be something substantial inbetween Plantera and Lunar events, once youve got Plantera down you're basically like done, very mild farming and you're set for final boss.
Other than that I think it was phenomenal.
The added content buffed the rest of the game very well.
