Allright lets start this off by throwing out some questions.
Who was your favorite companion?
Best area?
What was the worst enemy and why was it the ore golem?
What character did you make, did you write any backstory on him/her?
>>
>No replies
Should have expected as much, Ill just crawl back to sleep.

>>
>>322168056
>Allright lets start this off by throwing out some questions.
>Who was your favorite companion?
Vergil wins due to the sheer amount of time, dialogue and backstory we get on him.
>Best area?
Tarant due to size and expansiveness.
>What was the worst enemy and why was it the ore golem?
That's a leading question, judge.
>What character did you make, did you write any backstory on him/her?
Spellsword that's generally willing to help others but not at his own expense. It's my go-to for most RPGs which allow for similar characters.

This is the best RPG ever, by the way. What they managed to create with this game is fucking incredible.

It's weird how pillars of eternity ended up so souless haha, get it? seeing works like this.

I can remember OP builds from Arcanum, I can remember retarded run, I can remember being an evil necroasshole, I can remember being a charismatic nobleman who makes his pawns fight for him.

The few things I can remember from PoE is the slow combat, shitty magic, Aeder, and some scenest.
>>
Holy shit time to replay this ad a fucking hostile marauder roped into shady business by people more conniving than them again.

Wonder how different it will be this time. That wasn't sarcastic.
>>
I always feel like I'm missing something important with this. Is there a rough guide or info graphic like there is for EYE?

It feels like it could use a setup of vital and basic info. Must replay

The only class I'd say it's not apt for beginners is rifleman/gunslinger/mechanicwhatever and rogue.

Warrior is piss easy and pretty OP on turn combat and mage has some broken spells in each branch, specially necromancy.

mana
>>
>>322177670
>>322177730
It's a bit cooler than that. Spell use Fatigue. If you run out of Fatigue, you fall down and enemies curbstomp you.
>>
>>322177670
Spells cost Fatigue. If your Fatigue reaches 0, you will faint. More powerful spells cost more Fatigue.
>>
>>322177670
Also, fun fact - tech and magic are forces that override each other. Too much tech and magic don't work, too powerful magic and tech will broke. It is inside of setting. Also, you can be powerful enough for people to don't you use train as you would fuck it up (you can still do it with big enough social skills)

Being a gun-toting inventor wearing a steam powered armor was how I finished my very first playthrough, probably a decade ago or so. Everyone always told me guns and technology were shit, but I did just fine.

Virgil & the dwarf is how I rolled, start to finish.
>>
>>322178369
>Thugs at the bridge
they are surprisingly though and I loved it. You can side with the bandits and do an easier quest to get past them, or pay them.
I wish there was more of these situations where you have to reach a compromise unless you are insanely tough.

Say, I remember the last Arcanum thread I saw on /v/!

What was it...3...maybe 4 years ago?

Anyway, there was an image there of an evil backstory that starts with "Sometimes fate just isn't subtle" and goes on and on about how your PC was born under a blood moon on the 13th day of midwinter of the 666th year or some shit like that.

Does anyone have it? I can only assume it was a custom/mod-added background.

It made me chuckle and I've always wanted to see it again.

It's possible to complete the game without a fight but yeah the learning curve if you're going into a combat oriented route is pretty steep and requires some time investment.

Ruins of vendigroth was pretty cool area, I really liked the backstory on it. Also you can get some sick powers in there if you went through the god quest.

I keep wanting to do an evil mage run, but I tend to have the most fun being a molotov-chucking, pyrotechnic axe-wielding steampunk knight.

Do any other games use a similar faith vs logic magic system? I really liked how you can nullify magic just by not believing in it hard enough.
>>

one of the reason why I love the pyrotechnic axe so much is that the damn thing, on top of being OP as fuck, is also pretty much indestructible. You can use it to bash down doors, chests, and golems without a problem. If you don't have one of those, you can also punch doors and golems down, but you'll need some healing afterwards.

I've done quite a few playthroughs, but my favorite was the one where I was a Persuasion Master and had a harem of elf girls. Sure, I had to break up fights between Z'an and Raven constantly, and Druella and Swyft were always bothering me about completing their quests, but it was worth it.
>>
>>322168056
I played halfway through some months ago as a gun wielding character. Got bored of it and stopped playing.

I wouldn't recommend this one, the age really shows. For that matter the only d and d games worth playing in 2016 are planescape torment for ebin writing and BG2.

you can make salves out of the plants that are growing all over the fucking place. Barring that, you can buy plants for dirt cheap at a bunch of stores. You can make stamina heals out of COCAINE AND TOBACCO. I was literally rolling in that shit by the end of the game.
