It's actually got a decent amount of depth for something that looks just like Bejeweled. And it gets pretty challenging too.
Entertaining voice acting and characters are also a strong point. The goal is to get 100 sentiment then shove the necklace on a girl to OHKO her.
Optimise building 4-in-a-row or T-matches of the 4 affection tokens.
Blue shoes give you +3 sentiment for each 4 or T
Leopard shoes give you +1 move for each 4 or T
Mirror can spawn sentiment tokens or move tokens. Or just a bunch of shitty useless passion tokens. Still worth using.

I have been thinking of swapping Sunflower out for Fail Whale and aiming for more 4matches of sentiment, but the Sunflower tends to add a good 6 moves over just matching the joy tokens (which extends to 8 or 9 because of the move shoes), and in those 8 moves I can easily get 12 sentiment. The fail whale, on the other hand, usually sets up only one 4match for a total of 8 sentiment.

It's great, but unfortunately it gets repetitive quick, the characters lack depth and the game lacks a fully formed overarching plot. Some girls seem copy and pasted with little differentiating them from others, and it would have been more interesting to have had some story with each girl that elaborated on her character and gave her some backstory. As it is the depth of detail given on each character is limited to top trumps style stats and 'quirky girl', 'fairy', 'bitch', 'cougar' stereotypes.
The puzzle mechanics are great fun and a nice extension of bejewelled, but it lacks a pure puzzling mode without all the dating bullshit.
I do like the game and think it's very good, however it's far from GOTY material and a 7/10 at best.

Gets you more joy tokens for the Sunflower
Spawns in more sentiment tokens, possibly getting you a match4.
Also, clears a token type from the board, and opens up some passion (pink) matches, possibly allowing you to manoever some 4-in-a-rows in.
It's not used for any one thing - sometimes I play it early (before I got the shoes up) to try and get some sentiment matches, other times I play it late with the Noot noot + Sunflower for moves like jagger, sometimes I just use it when the bottom row becomes clogged with unusable shit to allow more movement.
Also, how are you "stuck" at Alpha? Once you pass Alpha 20 or so, you're no longer winning via affection.
Perhaps you just don't notice enough Match4s? Roughly 1 in every 3 moves should be a Match4 or a Tmatch.
