Bloodborn was an exclusive to a console, it makes sense less people would choose it because less people end up playing it. The only way it would have done worse would be if it were on a less popular console, like the xbone or wiiu.

Undertale has average/mediocre gameplay which is similar to Earthbound which means that it is not original. Same goes with the graphics.
The gameplay itself consists as bullet hell which feels gimmicky and does not match well with turn-based RPGs.
The humor itself is average and sometimes relies on memes.

#1. Exclusives have a really difficult struggle vs Multiplats for GOTY. More people can play the latter.
#2. Open World games are HUGELY popular, and have been for years. Bloodborne is the complete opposite of that.
What I don't understand is MGSV being up there. The game was blatantly unfinished, it continually strongarms you into the exploitative FOB shit, there is a ton of filler ( 95% all of the side ops), not much mission variety, the villains and antagonists were the weakest and least memorable in the series, and the game's overworld was largely empty without much variety.
The gameplay is excellent, but goddamn the rest of the game...
