When the ball is sure to go in, it's annoying to have a teammate touch the ball at the last second and get the creds for it. That said though, I've let someone else's shot keep rolling towards the goal only to have a player from the opposing team boost in from the side and save it at the goal line

Is doing fancy air manouvres even worth it, unless you are insanely good? I find that relying on the usual stuff with good timing/positioning has a much higher chance of success.

Paladin is good in 3v3 because its wide and flat. It's a giant paddle which is custom-made to do aerials. But its also super low to the ground, so you're likely not hitting the ball UNLESS you're in the air. The Merc is generally the best for 1-on-1
