It's...not bad but it's not really amazing either.
Gameplay-wise, which is what should matter the most, it was actually not that bad. It probably had the best autoplatforming of any game last gen, due to the responsive jumping and the level design. Gunplay was 'eh', could've been better than it was, although for once it was nice that the game let you have more than just two weapons at a time, like most TPSes did last gen. That shit was awful. Also the cover system was probably the best cover system implemented in a game last gen and at least you always felt pretty agile as Lara instead of slow and sluggish.
The game being more of an action-adventure with some minor Metroidvania elements was also really nice and even somewhat under-appreciated. At least the locales were more than just empty hallways that led to the next setpiece on some level. At least the game had you exploring at some points, going back to places you went to previously to access some new area with some new tool you discovered, which was quite cool. Art direction was superb as well.
Story and writing however, were trash, which wouldn't even remotely be as big of a problem as it was if the game didn't shove it in your face every five minutes. No game, I didn't really want to learn the story of how Lara became a SURVIVAH.
I think all in all, the game probably had better gameplay than a lot of other popular third-person shooters last gen, like the Uncharted series or even Gears of War.
Liked it. And the optimization was really well done. Could run it on my 2012 laptop like a fiddle. Decent game.

what what what?
link that shit famiglia
close quints
I enjoyed it a good deal, some things would improve it. I just find /v/ as a whole has an irrational hate boner for it and will grasp at any and all straws to complain.
> durr this area with ancient ruins isn't a tomb waaah waaah
I mean really? By that logic the games /v/ nostalgia over would be shit since it's not that many tombs.
So if we call the secret tomb areas "shrines" it would magically be ok due to the nature of /v/s complaints.
Looking forward to the next one, but I'm not sure if I'll grind that or xcom2.
is this game like uncharted?
how does it compare to it?
because holy shit if is sonyggers are more delusionate about their game than the pope about god.

This game is a 3rd person action game with some platforming. I had fun with it and actually 100% it. It's nothing new, just a solid action game. Has almost nothing in common with the old TR games.
nope

I really liked it.
Can't wait to get the next one on pc.
I fucking loved it. Only 11 more months till I can play Rise on my PS4.
It was okay, but not great.
The story was terrible, mostly because I hate the survivor narrative. Other than that it kept me amused for a while.
For the $4 I paid for it I'd say I got my moneys worth.
It's better than unfarted but that's not saying much.
The press forward to awesome nature of it all got to me pretty quickly. I felt the scripting hard when the serious action kicked in.
I've heard Rise is an improvement, but ehh I'll wait till that ones dirt cheap too.
