Ever17, made by the same writer. 999 and VLR are pretty similar to it. It takes quite a while before you get the interesting things. To be frank, it can be pretty boring. Give it a good read, because despite being familiar to ZE, the mind fuck is still ridiculous and awesome.

Then most/all of the Ace Attorney games, if you're willing to roll with easy/obvious mysteries in many cases. You could always just play Clue 2 on pc, as well. It has some morbid death scenes when you make the accusations.

Danganronpa games are a little more anime but they're still solid mysteries with better, more engaging gameplay than the Zero Escape games. Fun characters too, worth a play if you have a Vita.
Ultra Despair Girls was pretty disappointing though and not worth the $60 I paid. It is neither a good mystery nor a good shooter, but komaru's cute I guess.

Honestly? Yeah, I think so, considering they're cheap as fuck now. Danganronpa 2 is in my top 10 games of all time, it's charming, funny, lengthy, well written (For the most part, looking at you"elevator", and like I said, the gameplay is pretty fun. It's like the Ace Attorney games, but instead of simply presenting evidence at the right time, it's presented as a short of meta-shooter where you fire your metaphorical "truth bullets' to shatter flaws in opponents statements.
The characters and settings are great in both games but I think 2 is just a little better than 1.
