Are ultra-wide monitors a meme?
Anyone here got one?
They're good for doing productive stuff
If you get one strictly for gaming then you're an utter moron

why
Yes they're just a fad. Just like 4K monitors.
They're an interesting niche and a good avenue for monitors to be experimenting with. Monitors are evolving really quickly these days and it's fascinating to see what happens.
The wider aspect ratio is nice for games but there are always trade offs to make, so it'll be a while before we can get consequence free 21:9 displays

I got the Dell U3515W. I like it. You get more room to do stuff. The bad part is most games aren't optimize for their resolution.

The black bars are weird when gaming. Very nice experience otherwise. Looks great too.

>4K
>a fad
Can anyone tell me if 1440p is worth it over 1080?
>>322052540
And what are the "consequences" exactly, bad refresh rate?
>>322053746
Depending on the screensize, 1440p below 27inch screen take a while to adjust since everything is smaller than usual. Wouldn't recommended.
But 1440p is worth it in 27inch screens.
>>322053746
@ 27inch or when doing productivity exclusively. For gaming the extra pixels are too much with these shitty console ports.

>Is X a meme
You really deserve to be fucking perma-banned you retarded piece of dogshit.
>>322052176
It's pretty cool but I cheaped out and got one that doesn't let me use both HDMIs at the same time so I regret that.
Not all games run this resolution but you'll like it a lot if you like to play games in windowed mode and look at other stuff or stream from pc.

Just a meme bro
>>322054225
Game support. Sucks if you can't get use of all screen space or UI derps completely.
Now this is a meme.
Bought a G-Sync monitor, can't tell the difference.
Yes its enabled, not it doesn't make a noticeable difference.

I find 27" 1440p the sweet spot for monitors, you can get one for a acceptable price, it's nice for productivity, it looks much nicer than usual 1080p and it still doesn't require hideous amounts of GPU juice like 4k does.
Anyone used the new ROG Swift?
