If by disturbing, you mean fucking rad. I remember playing PE as a kid and thinking those CG mutation scenes were fucking sweet and way cooler than anything in the shitty horror movies I was used to.

It's a cross between real-time and turn-based RPG. You can move freely like in a real-time RPG, but has an ATB gauge much like FF (though it is made the Square). You can only attack/use items/perform actions when the gauge is full.
