Real boobplate armor would look even more retarded. Cuirasses are curved because it's harder for arrows to penetrate a curved surface and swords can't find a crevice where the blow is stuck.
Someone with 70C cups would have immense trouble fitting into a regular cuirass, that means they would need to make the bend of it even bigger. I'd take fantasy boobplate any day over onion knight armor.

Armor only really works certain things. If you are wearing full metal armor to resist physical blows, that fire breathing dragon is going to roast you alive. If you are wearing fire resistant gear, I doubt it will do much shit for protection from getting a giant pillars slammed into you. Anything that weighs a decent amount should make small ledges a calculated risk for breaking bones. Then again, you can always just be lazy and say a wizard made it strong and at that point, a bikini that has the highest defense isn't so far off.
My issue is calling for our world realism. If you work with the games universe, okay cool. If you are trying to bring our real world shit into it, go fuck yourselves. Why the fuck would someone enchant a dagger to kill a dragon? Make an all new weapon specifically made to kill a dragon then work with the universes's world to define it. If the primary enemy is other humans then I can understand why there would be parallels between real world shit. If there's magic and mystical creatures, no. Stop being lazy and create shit to deal with that stuff

I unfortnuately stand in a very weird middleground on the "Boobplate weeaboo" versus "MUH REALISM autist" debate. I just want a design which is very "full". I don't give a fuck how realistic or believable it is. I don't care how sexy or lewd it is. I just want a design with plenty of elements to appreciate that doesn't seem like it would be genuinely impossible to move about in. So long as it doesn't clash with the setting, I won't be disappointed. I like thick jackets and spiky armor (to an extent) because people tend to fill them with intricate little design details before saying "This character's done". Fog gray knight armor with no tabard or anything is aggressively flavorless and boring, and lewd chainmail bikinis simply don't leave me anything I can appreciate.

Phantasy Star Universe actually has something like that. Fighting the massive plasma-spitting scorpions and literal fire-breathing dragons across space means that metal armor won't help for shit with defenses. So they instead armed their explorers/hunters/soldiers with portable forcefields that deflect massive amounts of impact and outside damage and permit the people to wear whatever they feel is comfortable or lightweight enough to maneuver. It quickly turned into a ton of companies marketing their personal fashion statements into "armor" and now we have a universe of eccentric dressers fighting aliens, rather than armored expeditioneers fighting aliens.
