A pal of mine who lives overseas owns some of the CD-I games, he streamed it, which was about as close as I'll ever get to playing them. It seems pretty archaic to play now, I don't think I'd be able to handle it.
I had Wand of Gamelon as a kid. I quite liked it back then but very young children like myself when I played it don't really have standards. I have a lot of nostalgia for the music, world map and non-cutscene visuals in general for the game. If someone were to clean up the controls to make it more responsive and remap the functions to use more buttons and be more logical in general they could honestly be kind of alright.

They're awful. The animation is weird and offbeat, the environments and level design are terrible, and the gameplay itself is unbearable.
They're fun to make fun of and almost fun to play in a "b-game" context but there's points where you stop having pretend fun and just become actual frustrated. The opening cutscenes are the best parts of those games.
