But you already have it, what are you even asking?

Either way Bayo 1&2 are legitimately some of my favourite games of all time. I've 100% both of them and I rarely 100% games.
>>
>>321972526
A lot more fun than DMC games imo.

I can see why some prefer those over Bayo though.
>>
>>321972526
Fuck off with this yay oe nay shit, you filthy leddit fuck
>>
>>321973160

I feel similar. I really love DMC, I've played the hell outta 1/3/4 and even S-ranked 3 on DMD, but for me Bayo is more fun to play on a regular basis. The mechanics just "click" more and it has a greater sense of spectacle.

The only gripe I have is that a lot of the bosses, particularly in the first game, aren't that fun to fight once you've beaten them a few times. They tend to prioritize spectacle over gameplay, which makes them really fucking awesome once and then progressively less awesome every subsequent time. But DMC has more than its fair share of mediocre boss battles too, even if it also has some GOAT ones.
>>
>>321973445
how are the bosses in 2 everyone says the final boss was a let down compared to the first but Jubileus isn't especially fun
>>
>>321973820
The final boss in 2 was just pretty forgettable, hyped up in the game only to not be anything impressive.
>>
Game was alright, overrated though, they also seemed to deliberately design her to look like Sarah Palin, which was deliberate because she was just becoming famous at that time and people were going nuts about her.

First one would be one of the best action games ever, but it has a decent amount of glaring blemishes which drag it down.

Second one was cleaned of all of those blemishes, but it has a difficulty curve issue. Everything but the hardest difficulty is way too fucking easy, and the hardest difficulty shoots up to 10 times harder than the previous.

Absolutely worth playing, but I don't think they are as perfect as everyone says

but why give her a british accent
>>
>>321973820

The various big angels/demons are still spectacular, like the first game, and I would say they're a little more consistently fun to fight. All the Lumen Sage fights (essentially 2's "rival" as a replacement for Jeanne) are fun and crazy as hell, and some of the most spectacular fights in either game, but can be really shitty to Pure Plat because he auto-dodges almost everything you do outside of Witch Time.

Outside of those there might be a bit too much of an emphasis on humanoid bosses that don't have quite as much spectacle as the first game, but they're also mechanically more fun fights. This is also how the final boss works, which is why people tend to find it a bit anticlimactic. Mechanically it's FAR better than Jubileus, but it's nowhere near as cool and almost feels like a bit of a letdown for a final boss.
>>
>>321973820

From a gameplay perspective I actually think 2's final boss is way better. Jubileus was a fucking mess, and balder had potential, but something about him felt off to me.

Everyone just complains about 2's final boss because it's just some boring diamond guy, and didn't quite have the same amount of over the topness

>>
>>321972526
Probably my favourite character-action/hack 'n slash/curayzee etc. games ever.

I'd recommend starting with Bayo 2 first and moving to Bayo 1 later, since Bayo 2's geared way more toward newcomers. But it's good either way.

>>321974338

Balder feels "off" because like 70% of the fight consists of button mashing cut-ins or waiting for a chance to hit him.

I mean, aesthetically it's fucking awesome. You're fighting a crazy angel-man while jumping around on the rubble of a collapsing skyscraper trying to pull out every demon you've got as he just keeps crushing them and blasting you with orbital lasers. But as a fight it suffers from similar problems to Jubileus in the sense that it isn't very fun once you've beaten it a couple times and the wow-factor wears off.

Hell now that I'm gud at the game (all PPs, nigga) I knock him into each button mashing cutscene so quickly that I barely get a chance to play the actual game.
>>
>>321974254
Jeanne was one of the few boss fights I really liked in the first game so I have no problem with humanoid bosses.

Can anyone tell me if Bayonetta 1 Wii U version is good? Or should I play it on 360?

>>
>>321974986
It's the definitive version, have fun.
>>
>>321974986
360 is the best performance wise overall but the WiiU version has a couple extra costumes.

Retards on /v/ will tell you the WiiU version runs better or is the "definitive version" or some shit, the only difference is the costumes + runs worse.
>>
>>321974992
True. But still I can't see their faces when I'm fighting Gracious and Glorious.

I think Platinum missed a nice opportunity not including Arch-angels. Boss rush against Lucifer, Michael & Raphael might've been cool.
>>
>>321974806

I don't think any of them really match up to Jeanne 3, because that fight was amazing, but yeah they're pretty good.

The Lumen Sage fights come really close, and in terms of pure over-the-top insanity they're the best shit ever, but they're dragged down a bit by his auto-dodging shit making them not very fun to do Pure Plats on.
>>
>>321975045
>>321975150

Thanks bae
>>
>>321974986
Wii U version has slowdown issues here and there for me. It drops from 60fps to 10 when you first meet Fortitudo in the first flashback fight, when you run down the stairs in to that hallway and when he attacks with both heads. I don't know if there are issues with when playing from the disc but for me playing from the harddrive there are some issues.
>>
>>321974978
>Dodge Offset
Yes, this is a necessity.
Dodge Offset is so much fun to utilize, but I feel a lot of new players have a hard time grasping just how useful it can be.
>>
>>321975150
>runs worse on wii u
but that's not even true. Wii U runs at a higher framerate with no screen tearing.
http://www.cinemablend.com/games/Bayonetta-Wii-U-Xbox-360-Performance-Comparison-67567.html
>>
>>321975150

Wii U also has better shadows and actual Vsync though. It does drop a few more frames, but only in situations where the 360 version already dropped frames to begin with, like Iustitia. Most of the time it's 60FPS.

Annoyingly Bayo 2 doesn't run quite as well as the port of the first one, though it's still okay.
>>
>>321974447
I played on an HDTV and I just now noticed too
>>
>>321975624
I specifically wrote "retards on /v/" because people like you haven't played both versions, I have, I've played them on disc, install and download across both 360 and WiiU. The installed 360 version runs the best. That video test is from the very beginning of the game where there's just a ton of junk on screen during an autoscroller. When you're actually playing the game the 360 version is by far the best. WiiU suffers from an annoying amount of hit lag on even non-taunted enemies and has more framerate issues in areas where the 360 already have trouble.

>>321975683
Bayonetta 2 runs better basically everywhere, it's way more polished, the only time I'd entertain that it runs worse is when you're using Gaze of Despair on every single enemy because the hit lag is fucking atrocious.
>>
>>321975624
Holy shit the salt in that comment section.
>>
>>321974702
So the chronology fits? Development and release dates are not the same thing.
>>
>>321975930

Micropauses on hit are not lag, nor are they framerate drops, they're put there intentionally.
>>
>>321976106
Then why are they different depending on framerate, are you fucking retarded, I know what micropauses on hit are, basically every Platinum game has them to some degree.

The fact that they're so wildly different depending on the framerate the game is running at is the issue. Go look at the PS3 version and tell me those micropauses on hit are fucking intentional you inbred dipshit.

He's quoting the version of Fly Me to the Moon that played at the end of Evangelion.

He did this because the song also plays in Bayonetta.
He was trying to either be funny or cute, but failed at both, as you can pretty easily make out what's being said in the Bayonetta version

Pure platinumed Bayo 2 Rodin yesterday
>>
>>321978345
No wtf, if you can't get good at 1 you won't get good at 2
>>
>>321978345
1 has systems that make it easier experience on the player than 2, like being able to lock on and dodge without panther within.

Nigga just get good. Bayo 2 is harder than 1
>>
>>321978651
Bayo 2 non-stop infinite climax is significantly easier than 1. But i guess besides that you're not wrong.
>>
>>321978446

It took me like five hours to even survive that fight and then the one time I managed to win it was a PP.

I was so busy trying to live out of pure reflex that I didn't even realize I hadn't taken damage at all.
>>
>>321978513
>>321978651
What in the actual fuck am I reading, Bayo 2 was way, way easier than 1.

The fact that you can freely heal, the scoring system being more lenient, and Umbran Climax pretty much make it way easier by default.

Getting Platinums even on Normal in Bayonetta 1 is going to take a lot of skill and practice. Meanwhile, I was getting Plats on 3rd Climax and Infinite Climax in Bayo 2 without much trouble at all.
>>
>>321978902
Yeah that's kind of how the fight is. You either do it close to perfect, or you don't do it at all.
