Remember When N64s Were at McDonalds?
>>
>>321962152
There's still a n64 at the McDonald's by my house, I live in a very rural area.
>>
>>321962152
I played TTYD for the first time at a McDonalds.

It was a demo version before they even came up with a proper name for it and was just called Paper Mario 2.

>Mario Party 5 is set up in the playhouse
>timer reset was so short that you can't even get through the opening cutscenes and rules without it resetting.

What the fuck was the point of even having it in the first place?
>>
>>321963128
A McDonald's near my old house had Melee.

It was some weird gimped version where you could only play on the Temple and only the starting roster was playable no matter how many hours were logged onto it. If I remember correctly, the item toggle wasn't available either, so items were set to on.

Those are probably the greasiest and dirtiest controllers on the face of the earth.

It was a long while back, almost 15 years ago, so my memory's spotty. The other starting stages might well have been playable, but I do definitely remember there were no hidden characters unlockable.

This was the case at the McD I worked, so one day I opened the cases for cleaning and found it didn't have Memory Cards so no progress was saved. Each day the manager turned off the electricity at the end of the day and there goes any progress

the horrible condition they were in.

>>
>>321966598
I got into the Chris Houlihan room in ALttP with one of these systems.

The room actually functions as a crash prevention measure; I didn't do that Pegasus Boot dash or anything (there's no way I could get it in the 30 minutes you had)

The cheap "family" hotel I stayed at during October had a ps2 setup that was free with the room, but it was literally a ps2 locked in a box. I don't know if the games were different from room to room or if there was any way to change them, but mine had super monkey ball deluxe.

Yeah I also remember when burgers were 2 times larger yet still cost the same as todays price.

I remember when Dominos used to sell pizzas so big that I couldn't finish even if I tried. Now a days I can eat half of one in a single bite.

My McDonald's still has Gamecube kiosks. The only one that works has Over The Hedge and shitty controllers.

I think you may have just seen things as bigger when you were a kid. The standard burger has gotten bigger, like kids meals burgers used to the standard sizes. Sure, they are more expensive now as well, but not downsized.

We had those in the 80's. Of course nobody actually played them since the parents saw it as a cheap ripoff.
>>
>>321962152
Yeah, but since blacks frequented our McD's, all the games were destroyed. Someone even tried breaking the box open to steal the N64 that was inside.

I love McDonald's. The only real problem I've got with them (at least were I live) is that they put so much effort into the environment and décor to look fancy. If I buy a burger made out of pure fat and sugar, I don't want it to look like I'm eating at some hip and fancy restaurant. No, I want to know and soak in that it will make me live for 30 minutes less.
