I've played Blood Money and Absolution and they were good.
Are Codename 47, Silent Assassin, and Contracts worth playing. I hear Codename 47 is nearly impossible to play due to the difficulty.

Codename 47 is great, don't listen to fucking casuals, i finished it when i was like 13, it's not that hard when you use your brain.
Wrong board, but 47 is absolute shit, I never quit on a game on Steam before that, just go with Silent Assassin.
Contracts is 47 reworked, I've heard only good things plus it's very fucking cheap during the sale, so I'd say it's worth the dollar plunge.
Play everything but 47 (unless you really want to). You already played the worst (absolution), and the best (blood money), so you might as well play SA and Contracts if you liked blood money. IMO contracts has better missions and doesn't have any trash levels like SA so start with that.

Still waiting patiently for the new one. Contracts is definitely worth playing. Silent Assassin is also good but you'll find that guards will detect you very very easily. Codename 47 isn't impossible to play you just have to follow a sequence of actions making it fairly linear. You'll actually notice a lot of Codename 47 levels were remade in Contracts but they are arguably worse.
Also the new movie was fucking terrible
Contracts gets overlooked a lot of time, but it's fucking great
At least the second best Hitman after Blood Money in my own personal opinion

Amazing timing yesterday I bought the HD trilogy on PS3, if you can find it get that. It has Silent Assassin, contracts and blood money.
Having said that you kinda screwed up by playing blood money and absolution first the walking speed of 47 will probably drive you nuts with how slow it is in SA compared to the other games and some of the levels are pretty weak. This series is best played from the start so you can see the evolution of how good the levels got going backwards might make the game not as fun.

Absolution is not a terrible game, or even a bad one
it's just incredibly mediocre. If it weren't for it being an official part of the Hitman franchise, it would have been destined to be totally forgot about by everyone ever.

Play SA at least. It has some nice locations.
Not worth going for SA rating in every level though. But do go for "almost SA".
