Eh game was okay, but I wasn't that impressed. Like the space theme but didn't really feel different enough for me to care. Also updates seem slow as fuck.

Maybe i need to give it another go though since I didn't encounter any of >>321926260 beyond colorful areas and prefab base construction.

Every fucking time I open the Steam store, another survival open world multiplayer early access game stares at me
Which is more likely?
a) I will play them all to ascertain their quality
b) I will get fucking tired of these kind of games and any retard who eats them up
This is like being hyped for some generic WW2 shooter when the market was saturated with them

Absolutely no.

You missed the point where this game runs like shit on most rigs because it is an hot unoptimized pile of shit, severe memory leaks issues included.
The ui is shit, the progress tree is shit, the crafting is shit, even the combat is shit.
Literally nothing saves this game.
Please do not fucking compare this early access shit with Terraria.
>>
>>321927052
Terraria is literally just gear progression, which comes with gameplay and mobility, and boss fights. If this has boss fights and decent gameplay, it could be great.

Also, it's not as if most games don't have the potential to be really decent. Great gameplay is as simple as a few extra animations a la combos or extra mobility. It's not as if there are lots of really great playing games beyond 2D.

I quite like it, the game needs more time before I commit to playing it though.

Terraria was legendary and had a lot of appeal for certain people, hitting on a lot of the right niches. It has just the right amount of action, adventure, and building, unlike games like Minecraft where it's about a few different things, but mostly crafting and building.

Seriously though, what is the next "Terraria?" It was one of the best selling games on Steam and a lot of people liked it.

I want a true successor, while being 3D. At first I thought Voxelnauts might do it, but that became vaporware. What else has potential?
>>
>>321928524
Not to mention that Terraria is the most sold PC game on PC, and that it dominates the top 15 most played games chart on steam since 2011.

>>
>>321929127
Terraria isn't survival, anon.
There are no survival aspects in Terraria.
It's a 2D RPG with building\sandboxish elements.
It feels like a fucking Castlevania game.
In the meanwhile, kids are building farms and petting pigs on Minecraft.

You're doing an awful job at making and selling your game. You're thoroughly unimpressive in every facet of your delivery.
>>
>>321929861
Holy shit really? I thought the last update was the final one.

Also, what about the dark souls mod? Is it also going to be updated or something?

Fuck I loved that shit. I played it 2 times through. Once when it was released, and another time a year and a half later.

I would love to play it again.
>>
>>321930089
Everyone did, anon.
The rule of thumb is, if GAME X has a free weekend, it's shit.

If it is heavily discounted in the first 2 weeks, it's shit.

They're all working on the mod support update + additional shit, which is going to be the final update, this time for real (we are srs guyse dis time edition).
They've already spoilered the new things of the upcoming update.
Also, that mod is supposely going to be updated when they release the mod support, and giving that 3/4 of the dev team literally includes past-modders (there is even a 17 years old dude for fucks sake) it won't take that long.
>>

it isn't as good as terraria but it is the closest thing so far.
>>
>>321925404
You cheeky motherfucker
>>
>>321930713
Damn, this is great. I am fucking hyped again. Here I thought Terraria was dead.

The only thing that could excite me more would be findings of a truly deserved 3D successor to Terraria.

Voxelnauts dying left me very sad.
>>
>>321930930
God that game angers me so much. Had a ton of potential, but everything is designed to be ran as fast as possible and the classes are so simplified it's insane.

Should have given it a half decent skill system and made the dungeons actually dangerous with slightly better loot.
>>
>>321924879
And Don't Starve has far more content than they'll ever have.
I am not even that into Don't Starve. But I find it kind of peculiar.

You have all these games trying to do more or less just about the same thing.
And then you have one game that has far, far more content than any of the others. In an actually completed non early access state. And people disregard it just because it's 2D?
>>
>>321931425
>Don't Starve
That game has become literally 1000 times better with the release of the coop mode.
>>
>>321931510
I almost murdered a friend over that game. He was constantly "what should I do now, what do you want me to do now" and so on. I was like fuck man, do whatever you think is going to help us not die.

Really can't say I enjoyed that game at all.
>>
>>321931425
DS' problem was repetitive gameplay, which seems worse with no multiplayer, and being awful to play.

It doesn't really do gameplay as well as something like Nuclear Throne, and that could probably be fixed by not having to spam the clicks.

Terraria gets criticism for its gameplay, but the mobility is great, and the gear looks real fucking neato.
>>
>>321931743

>>
>>321931914

It's far less repetitive than all those 3D "survival games" that's for sure. From having more content if anything. But then again, it has better design and all of that as well.

It was a compilation actually, a bunch of dark souls-themed monsters\items\bosses and a dark souls themed survival map called The Story of Red Cloud.
It was hard as hell.
>>
>>321932228
Well, it's an interesting experience taming a dinosaur, then flying across the land and taking out alpha raptors for gear they swallowed.

..Not so much deciding whether to read the wiki on what the humanoid pigs do and how to X.. or having to repetitively start over because of the game being pretty strict on a lot of the survival.

Game design based on fucking over the player always seems awful, and this is shown through DaS1's poor original reception.. and maybe how little the sequel actually sold vs. how popular it seems on the internet.
