Trump
>atmosphere
I'd be impressed if any of you could articulate just what exactly this is supposed to be and how it's distinct from other attributes.
How the game feels to play, everything else is secondary.
And since "gamefeel" seems to be based on personal preference (I can't for the life of me see how people find pleasure controlling Fallout 4 with a controller) it gets even more messy.

Level progression is extremely fucking important and in my top 5. Copy paste corridors, constant backtracking, etc? That is one of the biggest mood killers in all of gaming.
Atmosphere is kind of a dumb umbrella term that means nothing. I would say everything it includes is what makes up the rest of my top 5: story, graphics, difficulty, and audio design.

Everything. Each game has its own feel/experience to deliver to the player. You gotta put together the many aspects of a game and consider that package rather than just the story or graphics or w/e.

his favorite game is probably the ones with his name on it. same as his favorite everything else.

If it's not fun or challenging to learn to play/play... then why even bother?
> Story
Can range from retarded/funny/simple - 50complex plots as long as it's interesting and atypical
> Visuals (art, graphics, etc...)
Playing a game that doesn't look like shit is more enjoyable, and I do appreciate the art that goes into games.
It's frustraing that nowadays the popular thing to do is make a game that just looks "GOOD". That's why there are so many bad fucking games on the market now that are just empty.
