It was a great game, that got infested with the brony audience. Honestly, I was hyped for the game to come out. Binged it over 2-3 days, spent time in the early threads discussing plot and theories about hidden shit.
Then came the furfags, the waifu's, the sjw's, the "Gays can be in games and its fine guys! 2015!" They proceeded to talk about everything but the gameplay. Swapped Sans memes, waifuing toriel, constantly saying how deep it was.
I loved the game, but I hate what it has become.

As someone who enjoyed Problem Sleuth as it was being released, and wandered into Homestuck.. I enjoyed Homestuck. However, I fucking despise the fanbase. Any attempts to casually mention it are either met with

Simply because I didn't enjoy it. It felt very childish and easy, a casual game with meme-tier jokes to cater to the MLP type of fanbase. Gameplay was unique and I can appreciate the game itself, but the horrid fanbase is a huge turnoff in combination with the mediocre game. I got each ending and felt pretty dissatisfied, the only "amazing" story elements are the breaks in the 4th wall.

I loved the Earthbound games back in the day and didn't give Undertale much thought to be honest.
But while I was watching from the side how it gained more and more popularity, the fanbase grew more and more retarded with each day.
So without playing the game I got spooked away.

I played it, gave it a fair shot. Good music, decent gameplay, fucking awful writing. Humor falls flat and it's constantly relying on tropes. Cut out most of the dialogue and it might've been a good game.
