From what I understand, there is - Minutemen, Brotherhood of Steel, Railroad and Institute.
If I keep doing minutemen quests, does that lock me out from doing the other 3 faction quests?
I got to Paladin Danse, and he offered me to Join the BoS but I've been dodging yes or no because I'm not sure if i say yes, that will lock me out on other factions

I also read some logs where they replaced the mayor with a synth but when I talk to him, there's no dialogue to rat him out or talk to him about it. Also Trashcan Carla is a rat but if I kill her, I'm the bad guy.
I don't see how anybody could be on board with Synths, it's just a matter of time before they replace everyone. If they're so great and replace humans, what happens when they all suffer a system or software error? Does all progress die off with them?
