Thinking about buying a PS Vita.
Is it worth it? What are some good games for it?

besides JRPGs and some of the older mainstream AAA games, few decent indies here and there, you're not going to find much else on the vita.
Surprisingly enough, a lot of games.

I use my PC for gaming so I'd only be interested in games exclusively on the vita.
JRPGs are fine.
I'm in the same boat op. I need to play Cold Steel, so I am on the market. From what I have learned the original non slim vita's have a much better display and are the definitive version. Craigslist has been killing me over the last 5 days with so many 3DS and no vitas.

Just to name a few off the top of my head. All are really solid exclusives. Plus the best Ys game is a vita exclusive. Wish it got more shin Megami Tensei love though.

There's a lot but mostly digital and indy. Can't go wrong with sly and God of War collections on the vita.
Soul sacrifice Delta or earth Defense Force are good gets

Soul Sacrifice Delta, edf v2, muramasa, trails of cold steel, digimon cyber sleuth, ys ceceta, stranger in sword city, dangan ronpa 1 and 2, and oreshika 2 are great, to name a few.
Killzone is excellent as well as wipeout too.
Indie stuff is great for short spurts.

Killzone, ss delta, ys celceta, tearaway, sly collection, sly 4, freedom wars, god eater 2, ninja gaiden, shinibido 2, hot shots golf, wipeout, and little big planet are good picks. There's a katamari game thats neat too, and monkey ball.

A lot of games shoot up in price. The TV is a decent deal, but the portable is where its at. If you can play them at native res on a tv, it would be nicer.

Gravity Rush is GOAT. Soul Sacrifice is very good too, although they came from Japan they're not stereotypical.

Got myself a nonslim VITA recently and like it very much. Blasting through Dragon's crown atm. Battery is full after ~2h 30min and lasts for 3 - 4 hrs of full on gaming. OLED screen is nice but unfortunately has some black stains that are very noticeable on black backgrounds when playing in complete darkness. Did some research and apparently thats not so uncommon. Built in browser does not support flash but you can still watch youtube etc. Also if you set a custom wallpapers they will get compressed to shit and you will notice some artifacts. This lead me to buying a theme from the store. Furthermore you cannot turn of menu sounds, only music. Its still a very nice machine and i would suggest getting a more recent model.
