Fuck whoever recommended this piece of shit as a true stealth game. Its mechanics are shit and its just as much a stealth game as fucking Skyrim is an RPG
>>
Yep, confirmed piece of shit
>>
>>321850260

Maybe now you should but Underrail as a true RPG. :^)
>>
>>321851096
Underrail was fun, there were some ridiculous difficulty spikes if you were playing with the oddity system.

There are stricter stealth games but Styx is most definitely a true stealth game, you're just retarded.

Stealth Archer has been your preferred way to play?
That implied that their are other ways to play, which means you were playing stealth characters in RPGs. Furthermore, you were picking people off at range, which defeats the purpose of stealth in most cases.

In short, you play 'stealth' characters in action adventure games and have no business playing a game based entirely on not being caught that encourages not killing people.
Go play fucking Wolfenstein and pick people off with a silenced pistol in between gunfights where you're dual wielding auto shorties and killing cybernetic nazi dogs.
That might suit your ADHD better.
>>
>>321854270

Metroidvania would be go grab Shadow Complex while it's free at the moment. It's excellent.

RPG would depend on what you like from your RPGs. My GotY and one of my new favorite RPGs ever was Age of Decadence, but the biggest part of that depends on if you like choices and consequences.

>>321855893
Not that guy but here's what I liked about it:

- There are multiple paths to your objectives.
- There are plenty of different ways to deal with guards
- Combat is strongly discouraged, making it closer to a pure stealth game than many other action-stealth games.
- You can choose different ways to spec Styx depending on your preferred play style.
- The setting was pretty cool.

Honestly, I know I shouldn't have bothered because you will just reply with some dumb shit but you were partially correct, people have not explained what they like about the game.
>>
>>321856329
I also liked Styx as a character and liked how you could beat the game as a complete ghost, not killing a single guard and never being spotted.

You could say nearly all of that about shit like (the stealth missions in) Watch Dogs. The world was tedious, the character utterly boring, and you can find the exact same stealth gameplay copypasted into nearly every AAA release of the past decade.

Styx didn't do anything well. You people are just so absolutely starved for a "pure stealth" game that you'll gobble up any garbage.

Nothing about Stryx was particular interesting. It didn't do anything well. It didn't break any molds, it didn't excel at anything. It was a moderately competent slog through absolute tedium. It was worse than bad; it was boring.

Complete shit game. I've beat it on all difficulties, and the only difference between goblin and the others is that if they spot you, theres no fighting. You get insta-killed.
The story went absolutely no where.
The absurd amount of enemies in everywhere just to make it more annoying was cancerous in and of itself. Goblin literally makes an entire skill set useless since you immediately die once you've been caught in range.
The controls are fucking abysmall. You could try to drop down or jump up to a specific grab-able ledge and you could overshoot it like nothing.
So much more shit to say, but overall it is 4/10 at best. The only redeemable quality being the stealth kills and some of the abilities. But by the end of the game you wont even have enough to grab all the skills anyway, and after that shitfest, you'll want to immediately delete it anyway.
>>

Explain stealth games to me

Every fucking stealth game, there's "shadows" you hide in that are not dark at all, but as soon as you step on them you're fucking invisible. Together with that, all enemies have retardedly predictable patrols and NEVER look around, their cone of vision NEVER changes from the front of their body.

There's never any actual darkness.

The ONLY games where stealth didn't feel fucking retarded are Riddick games and Crysis (which has literal invisibility, but you still feel more challenged than step-in-black games). Maybe commandos too.
>>
I platinumed it after getting for free on ps+.

The game would have been alright if it wasn't so awfully coded. Having the walls of the maps disappear or the enemies start suddenly teleporting all over the map while having seizures was annoying but what really sucked was having to sit through the long ass loading screens every time it fucked up.
>>
>>321857241
I also liked the twist, it was something that i didn't expected and it was also sort of "obvious", in the cutscenes
>>
>>321857313
Okay.
there's a difference between
"styx is a terrible, boring game, your preferences are shitty"
and
"styx is terrible and boring because of reasons A B C D but I enjoyed/i hated all of it"

See the difference you child? One of them is a shitty worthless blog thinner and worse than your shitty chinese waifu, another is a viewpoint, that if balanced, gives you a lot more credibility and is a great starting off point for discussions, which may give people some enjoyment or inform them on their purchase.

TL;DR You have no friends/underage/retarded can you guess how we know

Every time a sequel to a good stealth game is announced, I get optimistic just so that I could be disappointed at literally none of my wishes coming true.

Like with Thi4f. The first time I heard about a Thief sequel being worked on by the studio that made Deus Ex Human Revolution, I had a ready concept in my mind what a real Thief sequel based on a decade of expert feedback would look like. Then a thousand people like me went and told Eidos Montréal what all the good things about Thief were, and the company used that information to make the exact opposite of what the game should have been.
