Funny thing is that the game create memes not recycle them. I think shitposters on 4chan is just jealous that the game can actually last where meanwhile literally everybody know that Vegeta originally said 8000 and not 9000, frogposting is now a shitty thing, normal cartoons use the word feels instead of the word feeling and so on. That's popular for its modding scene (non-sex mods are more popular than sex mods). You want to make a difficult dungeon crawler? That's mods for that. You want a survival game of hunting and dealing with the elements? You want a pornography game? There's a mod for that.
And for the survival mods, most of these mods get the appeal more than most survival games out there. Mix that in with most of the content mods out there adding in 3 dlcs containing islands that equal Skyrim's size and in some cases have better world design, and you've got more content than any AAA release ever will.

I went into it, trying to hate it. It is not the greatest game ever. There was nothing spectacular about it, but for ten dollars i got my moneys worth of enjoyment.
I got a few chuckles, didnt see any memes.
At some points the blatant faggotry was a little bit cringy, but even it was played mostly for laughs.
I found myself thinking the over muscled faggot ice cream knights were even a bit endearing.
The music was good. The gameplay was fun and at times challenging.
I think Undertale is an example of a shitty fanbase and /v/'s general desire to be contrarian.
