Marvel has had a bunch of decent games for Spiderman/Wolverine/Ultimate Alliance/MvC, DC has the BamHam series (which amounts to maybe 3 good games) and nothing else.

it's not being made. Sony's series is cancelled after ASM2 and they licensed the character back out to Disney to put into their films. And they're not using Garfield Spidey, they're rebooting him yet again.

I think that DC has both had the best and worst games.
Marvel games are often mediocre, with the exception of the 2000s Spiderman games and that one Hulk game. DC has had everything from Superman 64 to the Arkham series.
MvC games barely count imo, its made by a Japanese dev that already knows how to make good fighting games.

Don't underestimate Spider-Man, he's by far the most popular hero even during his worst year (and his competition's best year), and he's probably the reason why Disney bought Marvel in the first place. Spider-Man MAKES trends, and the rest of the capeshit industry follows. For instance, we might see more animated theatrical superhero movies if the animated Spider-Man movie were successful.

DC. Regardless of how shit the final installment of Bamham is, it's the best capeshit game series ever made. Fun combat, gadgets, moves, and so on. The Batmobile would've enhanced the final installment if they didn't force it to you too much. More than 50% of the game is fucking tanks and chasing/running away from something.
Marvel capeshit games haven't been good for a long time. Almost all X-Men (Wolverine games, really) and Spider-Man games were utter shit. The only thing that's remotely interesting to me that's somewhat recent is the Deadpool game, and that's just because of the 4th wall breaks - the gameplay was also shit, like the rest of Marvel games. Well, there's one Spider-Man and Hulk game I played that was decent, but not good enough to remember, and their gameplay weren't as refined as the Bamham games.
Don't get me wrong. Superman 64 will remain the most horrible steaming pile of cow dung that has ever been conceived, and that's a DC capeshit - it's like they wrapped a cape on shit, then made it fly through rings. Whoever thought that up should an hero, seriously.

Secret Wars is obvious, and it's bigger than Thanos. Plus there's like three Secret War series, so they can milk it forever. They'll go with that next and introduce Black Suit Spidey.
Speaking of Spider-Man, they're going to whore out Spider-Man to the maximum, so they may as well go all out. Make a Spider-Verse movie and do it right. Have the plot be every Sinister Six from the universe go to war with the Spider-Men from across the universe. No edgy vampires, no Silk, rebuild the Leopardon costume, don't kill off characters for the fuck of it,Toby McGuire return for nostalgiafags, and make it the opposite of what the comics were.
