Anyone else think Akiyama sucks in Yakuza 5?
Not shitposting, he was my favorite new character in 4, but in 5 he feels the least changed. + His pressure playstyle sucks in colosseum and launch strike is ass. He could have been better if launch strike was replaced with something else or even if his counter was viable.

I didn't really like his playstyle much in 4 to begin with (aside from the enhanced taunting stuff), I hope he really isn't that bad once I get to him.
Currently on Haruka's part, dance battles are fun but the rest of this idol stuff is a bit dull for me. Doing her side missions at the moment, I'm guessing this "Love to See You Smile" thing I'm about to do is that comedy game thing everyone's been complaining about in these threads.

I like his playstyle though, you can from 4x square into 3x triangle into launcher into launcher combo into launcher finsiher.

Nah, the Love to See You Smile thing is different, but I forget what it's about. Haruka has so many activities in her side story compared to everyone else it's honestly fucking crazy. The comedy thing is cool but it just doesn't translate well to an English version.

Shinada's a lot of fun once you come to grips with him and Saejima has become absurdly better at crowd control

I thought it would be like that before I got to it, but old man Okudera's teachings really made it feel nothing like that. Probably the most fun I had in the entire game.
Then you beat all the missions and have no reason to continue hunting beyond your own enjoyment or just to make money. Add to that the animal spawn rate being increased plus the mastery skill giving you easy mode accuracy, and every critter just drops as it spawns in. Felt like shit.

How does fishing even work in this game, I read the directions but when you cast your line all that happens is the you watch the bob float for 10 seconds without being pulled and your bait disappears. I've yet to get a single tug let alone catch anything.

Assuming you mean river fishing - you wait for the hook to be pulled down and then press x. It doesn't always getting pulled down however.
