Leveling won't help you, just learn how to gun parry. Practice on the big guys with bricks under the bridge by the lantern. His first two phases you can essentially keep him locked down permanently, and stun him with the music box in the third. He was nerve wracking my first playthrough but goes down easy first try every other time.

I beat him at like 15? You can parry/visceral attack him all the way through and it's not that bad. Stocking up on health items isn't a bad idea, there's a lot of opportunity to get back and heal if you messed up.

If you need help keeping them straight in your head, you can use coins to mark where you've been. The layouts aren't too complicated if you consider how limited the interconnecting pieces have to be though.

I like how they fake you out on this, since her projectile attack basically uses the same animation at the start as her healing prayer, so you can get baited pretty hard.
She'll only start healing after she's at halfway health, and she'll usually try and back up pretty far away from you before she does it.
Grab the numbing mist up the ladder near the base of the stairs leading to her, down the alleyway to the right.

Not really, just use what you like and roll with it, just keep in mind that certain bosses are of a certain element so equipping armor with high def on that element will help you out

DkS is the best souls game period. If you dislike DkS2 for its blatant mediocrity you may still like DkS because it's a much more polished product and hides its flaws very well.
