To the series, yes. But in a video game about the series they aren't going to mostly bother with things like that. This is still just a Vita game being brought to the PS4 to attempt selling copies, but it's still pretty limited size wise.

Most of these recolors (ModokiBetamon, Gururumon, Psychemon, NiseDrimogemon... the list goes on), you'll notice, are from the very early generations of Digimon. Most of them came about because Digimon World let you recruit any Digimon you could raise, but they didn't want you to fight them in the overworld for whatever reason. Probably to prevent confusion.
So while you could raise Palmon, you fought Aururumon. You could raise Betamon, but you fought ModokiBetamon. You could raise Kunemon, but you fought Dokunemon
They're pointless now, and for the most part are completely ignored. There's very few of them that even get acknowledged as existing, and those are the ones with the most drastic color changes. Shit like ModokiBetamon (a light shade of green) and Gururumon (less blue) gets forgotten, relegated to an old PSOne game, while Weedmon/Veggiemon and Dokunemon/Kunemon barely manage to squeak by.
