Oh yeah the cutscenes in story mode are mostly embarrassing but it's super fun to play. They even included a classic mode which skips them. Great soundtrack too.

Despite having pretty cringy dialog at times I still enjoyed it. It did a lot of stuff right despite the noticeable flaws it does have, and a lot of the stuff going on in each stage would probably seem out of place without having seen the cutscenes.

No, it doesn't. I'm telling you I don't want any story, I just want a game to play. The game should had never have such a cringeworthy, shitty and poorly voice acted story. It's completely unnecessary and it only detracts from the game. And no, skipping it is not the solution since the game is made with that crap story in mind. It's not like the classic Sonic games where there was a seamless cohesive progression between levels.

I played the game for the first time yesterday, and I don't why I'm the only person in the universe that didn't cringe at the story nor the VA.
It's as silly/stupid as any sonic era game, I even find them cute, the only problem I found was the poor editing of volume values which shows people recorded the lines on their home. I'm even surprised by some of the voices, one of the male characters really sounds like a professional paid VA can't remember who, the emperor or something.
Bought this game following the hype but this game is so furrytard that I puke everytime i remember this game.
