It wasn't that fucking good. Weaker than usual music for the series, completely uninteresting story, repetitive, tedious combat and "dungeons" that are more going through the motions than anything since everything is immediately obvious almost 100% of the time.
Gameplay suffers by having choppy, limited animations for the sake of keeping a high frame rate, a downfall of the system.
It's not shit, but it's probably one of the weakest Ys titles by far.
