It's an alright way to extend game time for those who want too. To each their own
>Do you think trophies/achievements are a good thing / positive feature in a video game?
Yes. They are an optional objective to add more entertainment. Nothing wrong with that.
>How important trophies are for you?
I love them. Just got my 54th platinum a couple weeks ago
>>
>>321766973
What do you mean why? Because they're literally worthless. They just aren't a thing. They aren't a reward.
>>
>What is your opinion on trophy hunters?
Sheep
>Do you think trophies/achievements are a good thing / positive feature in a video game?
No, they're artificially elongating a game making up for lack of content to actually keep you engaged instead of killing x amount of x enemy

Not at all.

I think trophies are nice for people who usually just... for example only play the main story of a game. Sometimes trophies lead you to explore the game more.
Hardest trophies sometimes make you feel accomplished. (Like, trophies only 5% of players gets, etc.)

>>321767247
We agree
>>
>>321766789
>What is your opinion on trophy hunters?
Depends on what trophies and why.
>Do you think trophies/achievements are a good thing / positive feature in a video game?
Again, it depends. Sometimes trophies are a good measure of skill in a game. Things like "beat the game on impossible difficulty without losing a life" and shit. Ultimately, they're just bragging rights but it's a way to reward the player for putting a bunch of hours into the game in order to get good.
>How important trophies are for you?
For games I really like, I'll try to get all of them as it's an easy way to check how much of the game I've seen.

Stuff like "Opened the game lol!" is retarded though imo.

It gives you things to chase for which increase your playtime, its as simple as that nothing about them affects you in any way shape or form. There's nothing locked behind achievements and you don't need to be a part of the culture, so they're just there. anyone that thinks they affect anything in any way is a fucking retard and needs to reconsider their life.

>>321766789
Eh i like em, i got 16 platinums.
I only try and get em when i really like the game, like bloodborne and black ops 3
>>
I've been an Achievement Hunter for a looooong time. I stopped hunting for them because they sucked the fun out of the game. Before I started playing the game I would check the achievements. Were they hard? Were they easy? Are there any fucking online MP achievements? That would be a dealbreaker for me. It some achievements were impossible, I wouldn't play them. I also spoiled myself multiple times because I looked at the achievements. I got mad if I couldn't get the achievement.

I like them. Gives me something to aim forother than just finishing the game. I have only 2 100%/platinum/whatever though. I rarely like a game enough to want every trophy, especially autistic ones like kill 184,579 enemies using just hay or MP ones since I don't play MP.
Overall they're a good thing but people can take them way too seriously. Like WAY too seriously.

I personally like the idea, though I'm not a huge trophy hunter myself.

If theres a trophy thats requirements make me go "that sounds fun", ill certainly go the extra mile for it.

I certainly prefer it over Xbox's gamerscore. Got one for Christmas, booted up Ori and the Blind Forest, and got two "achievements" for basically just starting the game.

I dont know anyone that actually gives a shit about Steam achievements.

I like them but only in certain situations. Pretty much:

1. I have to really love the game to want to get all the achievements for it

2. They have to be tough to get, but not fucking insanely RNG based. Like the multiplayer Halo achievements are a great example of what not to do (get a triple kill with a sticky grenade while flying out of a man cannon while your team has the enemy flag and you're carrying a rocket launcher! Fuck that shit forever.)

3. Ideally they encourage replaying the game in different ways. Dark Souls 1 did a good job of this, with getting all the magic, or all the miracles, or whatever. Yeah you can do it all in one run but it's more fun to just make different builds and play through the game again and again.

4. It's nice if there aren't an insanely huge amount of achievements for incredibly specific shit. Like your game should have 20-25 achievements tops. If I have to run down a huge checklist of shit to do, I probably just won't bother.
>>
>>321771006

When will this meme end?
You clearly haven't even attempt that trophy OR many of the other ones in the game and you're just bitching because of the description and have no real will to actually try it out.
>>
>>321766789
>What is your opinion on trophy hunters?

>Do you think trophies/achievements are a good thing / positive feature in a video game?
Possibly if they make you play the game in a way you otherwise wouldn't and if that way does a job of showcasing otherwise missable or overlooked features. Then yes that's good.I think they help highlight what games you have and to what extent you've played them so your friends know what games you have in common and stuff.
>>How important trophies are for you?
Not very I only really seek them plats for titles I really enjoy anyways. Otherwise I sort of ignore them and only get the campaign related ones or ones that don't require multiple play troughs.

Do it immediately after you beat both modes, it's not as bad as you think. The first hour or two will be tough due to not having Tempest I or Tempest II, and you have to rely on that garbage one that spins but you warp in a direction every half a second. After that it's just Whetstones and spinning to win with Tempest.

The hardest part of Momohime's story is only the final boss since the rocks are absolute nonsense combined with the boss attacking themselves, and in Kisuke's side I believe it was just the beach boss you fight. Unless I'm remembering wrong and that was on Momohime's side too.

>What is your opinion on trophy hunters?
Nothing wrong with it. Only retarded if what games you buy are determined by the trophies in the game, and if you buy shitty games/multiple versions of the same that you normally wouldn't buy for easy trophies

>Do you think trophies/achievements are a good thing / positive feature in a video game?

Not necessarily a good thing, but definitely not a bad thing, and I think it helps extend the life of some games by giving you something extra to do

>How important trophies are for you?

Not important, but I do like the challenge, Didn't care about achievements with my Xbox 360 and only had about 50% completion. Nowadays, I don't have as much time to play shit and there's less things I'm interested in playing, so with a clean slate on the PS4, I'll attempt to 100% everything if I can and if the requirements are reasonable.
>>
>>321776507

What do you mean by DLC stuff? The DLC has a separate menu from the main game and has its own achievements and everything.
>>
>>321769567

No no, you apparently get to access the DLC areas in the main game and the other DLC characters get access to the main game stuff on top of the extra DLC areas as well, so that means all their items and stuff need to be obtained on each run. It's just what I consider 100%, that's all.

>>321776850
I'm so close with BFBC1, literally two achievements away and one of them is glitched, the other I only need 300 kills for but had no motivation at all and I think it died in the year or two I didn't play.

Yes, if implented well they're kind of unlockables you can show off to the world.
>How important trophies are for you?
I go for the plat if I like the game, sometimes I don't plat a relatively easy game because I didn't enjoy it as much.
>>
>>321777057
>you apparently get to access the DLC areas in the main game and the other DLC characters get access to the main game stuff

I don't think you can. Each DLC character has their own portal to their story section. But I don't think Kisuke or Momohime can fight the bosses you fight in the DLC or have access to the areas you have to go to reach them.

But with the DLC characters, after beating the story and getting the first ending you have to beat all 16 bosses from Momohime and Kisuke's stories with each DLC character

But I don't think the DLC adds anything to the main game itself. I'll have to check it out though.

Speaking of that, I should try finishing beating all the caves of evil with all DLC characters. Takes awhile though

Trophy hunters have the worst kind of autism. I didn't even know they existed until a year ago when i met a guy, and everytime we talked about video games he'd start by saying "yeah the trophies in this one are easy/hard to get"
For example, he had no interest in The Order 1886 (for obvious reasons) but he still bought it because he heard you can get Platinum on that game in one playthrough.

How fucking autistic do you have to be? What the fuck

I've only been into them for about a year and a half, but I've started enjoying vidya more ever since. It helped starting with a sort of blank slate on my PS4 / Vita.

They give me a sense of satisfaction that I've missed for almost a decade. Nintendo games used to, and still do sometimes, give you completion percentages, and trophies in particular (steam achievements are complete dogshit) give me that same feeling but on a grand scale. Being able to open a single list and see all the games I have played and properly completed is very satisfying.

That said, there are some games with stupid horseshit achievements such as MP games and what have you.

18 plats right now, working on P4DAN and Rogue Legacy. All I need to do for the latter is finish the game dying 15 times or less but I'm having a lot of trouble with it and a little frustrated after doing everything else. The remix bosses drove me up the fucking wall.

Keep in mind if a list ever has a + before the name of the trophy it's just DLC and it doesn't factor into the platinum. The Vita and I think the PS4 even separate the DLC from the base trophy list as well.
