Man RDR hasn't aged well I remember it looking a lot better
I've never played or taken much interest in RDR, but from what I've seen people really praise the game and I'm sure it's well deserved.
Does it play like a modern GTA game, but only that it's set in the Wild West, or is there more to it?

Doesn't help that it plays like shit

Gun is fucking great but suffers from the over world not feeling very alive. Call of Jaurez is a great western game but it's not open world.

Feels more like a mix between Witcher 3 open world and GTA set in the wild west
>?how is gun
like an early alpha release of RDR. RDR does literally everything better
call of juarez gets recommended often, but personally I don't see the appeal
>>321760887
think of it as the most competent western-themed game ever made. And there aren't many made of its genre
For me, red dead revolver is a very distant 2nd-best

How do you not see the appeal of Call of Jaurez? It's all about gun slingin' in the old west
>>321761385
because techland
>>321761489
Well that's dumb

Gun is pretty good, but linear and short.
There's nothing like RDR on PC, sadly. CoJ: Gunslinger is really good if you're into cowboy mood. There are also M&B mods in the same era.

You know CoJ 1 and 2 are also on PC right? Not just Gunslinger.
>>321761745
You forgot about The Cartel
>>321761745
I know, but Gunslinger is the only one I played recently. I remember playing first game years ago and not being able to really get into it.

Its the GTAIV boredom with the Wild west setting
Its still better than GTAV tho
>>321761887
No I didn't

RDR looks fucking terrible on screenshots but sort of alright in motion.
Or maybe that's just me losing the touch with reality when I played it.
The first CoJ feels kinda cheap but it's a nice experience. The gameplay still stuck in FEAR era. Graphics is a bit better than FEAR in some department.
Bound in Blood is a solid 8.0 game. It has regen health, but also a nice cover system. Voice acting for main characters is also great. You can fuck around in a big map that has nothing between chapters.
Gunslinger is also a solid 8.0 game. Fast and fun.

It still looks good for a game that started development in 2005 on PS2
What about ACIII?

>a nice cover system
This is what make the Call of Juarez series one of my favorites. Literally the only series that understands how cover should work in a first person game.
