You misinterpreted the system. Everything you build has a timer on it before it can be destroyed by anyone who just walks up and presses "destroy". This timer is refreshed every time you log in and higher tier buildables have longer times.
Anyone can, at any time, destroy your shit by just attacking it with tools/dinosaurs/explosives.

MGSV and the GW2 xpac. Can't refund MGSV because I played it for 6 hours. It's a good strategy they made with that game. Make the opening scene 3 hours long so nobody can refund it ever.

Holy shit can you be even more fucking incompetent.
Bad enough default setting is Shader Model 5 when it's experimental at best and/or really unoptimised and it's STRONGLY recommended you -sm4 it to get glorious 60FPS.
Also pretty bad the grind is unreal (engine 4) so accelerated servers tend to be the default. As long as characters are forced to one server, and the only reason you can lose levels is because you don't have a bed set up yet, there's no point in the progression system at all.

I really liked the original game 3 years ago in a Skyrim-explore-the-world sort of way (and it was quite good seeing what happened to the Guild Wars world). I don't even know what the fuck this xpac is.

You only get 60 fps if using DX10 and also have everything set to Low - the game then looks like it's from 2003. At Medium settings a 980ti isn't enough with DX10/SM4.
On low settings you'll also still get frame drops the second you build anything because those objects update several times a frame - this is why most people get around 25-30 fps regardless of hardware. It's simpy amateur coding and there's no excuse for that.
Speaking of amateurs - Minecraft had the same issue with grass updates in the past.:^)

The basic clothing makes you more resistant to heat, with a minor boost to cold resist. Just use a torch if you are cold OR GO INDOORS YOU IDJIT!
Axes: More wood and meat.
Picks: More Thatch and Hide/Keratin etc.
Spears: More damage but less gathering. They also break at like a 20% chance or some shit, fuck spears.
Slingshot:: Throws a rock for more torpor (sleepytime) damage than hp damage, knock shit out THEN kill it/tame it.
But srsly stop running you fucking colossal potato, and stay the fuck out of the snow!

Not sure about 3 months, I pirated the latest build around 6 months ago and since then they added the ability to break down objects in the world, and a completely new wood foraging system, as well as a new area. There appear to be a lot of smaller changes as well. Apparently they're going to release the campaign mode in Feb, which will result in a price hike, so It's not a bad time to get in at $9.99 for a game that will probably cost $30+ in the near future.
I'd highly recommend pirating the latest build and giving it a go.
