What's wrong with AAA companies? Why the fuck do they need GIGANTIC budgets? A game costs 60$, they are gonna get diminishing returns eventually!

Why can't they make a game with a medium budget and be fucking creative about it? Scale down the game and work on some mechanics!

The vast majority of the game's budget goes into marketing, not actual game development.

This
but aside from marketing, it also goes into the narrative (mocap, camera equipment, big-name celebrities as voice actors, hollywood writers, etc).
That's why all big budget game stories come off as pretentious and self-important.

How long would these AAA cunts would realize that every genre is not for everyone?

The same reason pro athletes command such high prices.

The same reason major films have such insane budgets these days.

If you don't shell out the big bucks on your game, your competitors will, and consumers will leave your studio, with it's sub-perfect presentation in the bargin bin.

It's sad, but true, with the game industry being as big as it is these days.

An art film often has Hollywood actors. They seem to no insane budgets.

And of course you have to pay for merchandise, licensing uneeded songs, and paid reviews and all that jazz

>tfw the game industry has surpassed movies in terms of yearly income and is bigger than ever
>>
Still 60$, It still gonna have diminishing results.
>>
Another question, What's with yearly sequels?

Don't forget about DLC, microtransactions, and season passes!!!

People buy that shit. Developers are going to continue to push it out, as long as people keep paying for it.
