Which one will be the flop to kill video game movies for good, Warcraft or Assassin's Creed?
Final Fantasy XV.
>>321723568
I actually have a bit of hope for both of them, even AC. The creative team's done some above average movies so yeah, plus points for that.
Warcraft, maybe some ech for the early CG but hype for it as well.
>>321723568
I ll ony watch Warcraft because i like the lore
Who gives a fuck about AC tho
>>321723943
>i like the lore
>>321723943
Magneto does, and whoever's left in the AC fandom after Unity and Syndicate
>>321724063
wc-wc3 was good lore anon
>>321723568
This isn't what they look like in the games
Why do they look like this in the movie?
>>321724565
>live action actors
>why don't they look like 3D models
>>321723752
I actually have some hope for the AC movie as well. Mainly due to the fact that they aren't trying to retell the events of the first game in movie form, but rather have a completely new idea set in the world of AC.
>>321724565
Spain. It's in Ezio's era but not focused on Ezio.
>>321724673
I'm talking about their attire and appearance
Whats up with the face tatoos
>>321724686
Plus a lot of the more interesting things like in the novels would feel like cinematic qtes, which would translate poorly in video games (See AC3)
>>321724757
Fassbender's looks like a scar. Woman beside looks like cultural tattoos. Not much info is given out besides a few set photos (a few ones with hay bales)
Both of these will be massive flops.
Now this is how you make a video game movie.
>>321724565
Better photo of him. Doesn't look awful.
>>321725515
Wrist blades looks bad in that one, like it's not tightly wrapped around his wrists. Looks good though. Not a big fan of the insignia on the hood.
AssCreed will. The Warcraft movie has the director that did Moon.
>>321725209
Agreed
>OC donut steal version of game protag
>Random edgy grill
Wow it's literally just Prince of Persia again.
>>321726006
AssCreed has the director who did Macbeth.
>>321726006
AC has a director that seems pretty good on his history. It's the writers I'm worried about
>>321726125
'scuse me, superior adaptation coming through
>>321726125
Is this some edgy version of Macbeth
>>321723568
War craft
At least people still play AC.
>>321726120
literally all AC games have new OC characters
>>321726280
I thought it was pretty good.
>>321726298
>implying Warcraft won't get a good audience out of nostalgia and Vikings fans
>>321726270
No. Throne of Blood would have been acceptable though.
>>321723568
Until we see a trailer for Asscreed, I'm going with Warcraft. It looks like absolute shit while Asscreed has some potential to be a decent film and won't need as much shitty CGI.
>>321726316
I don't think you know what literally means friend :)
>>321726430
Warcraft is smaller crowd compared to AC though, AC is the most normie game ever. Even blacks in the ghetto play AC, I can confirm.
>>321726578
>Warcraft is smaller crowd compared to AC though
The US isn't the world, bandingo.
>>321726578
Would still make enough bucks out of hype and probably 30%of the dota2fags who took the time to research what its predecessor was and got interested in it. Either way since both games are under the pessimism of the audience due to the bad reputation of video game movies (more recently, the Hitman reboot), the best thing these two can have for hype is good reviews and word of mouth across the social media viralling
>>321726578
>>321726298
>AC has a bigger fanbase than Warcraft
>>321726569
Ezio and Altair are completely different though. If you want tryhard oc donutsteel of Ezio, it's Jacob Frye or Arno
>>321727027
>>321726950

Mindless children arent going to line up to a mmo movie
Warcraft having shit CGI doesn't matter, the Chinese (the only ones who matter anymore to Hollywood) will lick it up anyways. Didn't they have some crappy looking film called Monster Hunt or something starring a pregnant guy be number one at their Box Office for a while?
>>321727432
cept they are... cause its not an mmo movie retard it was an RTS to begin with and the lore being showcased is the original RTS ones.
>>321727469
>Didn't they have some crappy looking film called Monster Hunt or something starring a pregnant guy be number one at their Box Office for a while?
What the fuck are you talking about
>>321727662
Either way, kids dont play shit like that so it doesnt appeal to them. Lame teenagers who think AC is cool will be there to watch it. Also Fassbender is a really big actor, so his fans are bound to go watch his movie expecting an amazing performance of him playing an assassin, he'stumblr and redditmaterial.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=FbhsvxqoCG4
this film was/might still be China's number #1 highest grossing domestic Box Office film
this film
>>321728094
lovely
>>321728094
The combat systems in the unity/syn engine is so horrible
>>321727432
>Mindless children arent going to line up to a mmo movie
Except that's the exact group that will? You're overthinking things way too much.
>>321728486
WE WILL SEE ANON IM BETTING IM RIGHT AND AC WILL GET MORE PEOPLE AND RATINGS THAN WARHAMMER, IM GOING TO BED UR MUMMYS MAD
>>321723568
There's a Far Cry, Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon and Rabbids movie in the works from Ubi apparently.
Splinter Cell will have Tom Hardy as Sam Fisher and the director of Bourne Identity. Is it gonna be another Hitman: Agent 47?
>video games surpass movies in profit
>try to become interactive movies
>see sales drop
>make full movies
Why has every entertainment medium become stupid in the last decade?
>>321729584
Doubt it, with Ubisoft sharing the creative control. They're even planning a Watch Dogs movie.
Since AC's going to be their first, we'll see how this goes before we speculate on their future movies like Jason Bane Identity
